A bartender has reveal which drink orders will make him instantly suspicious that a customer is underage.
The man, who is only known by TheBoi or his handle of @swagg0dd on TikTok, said he had wide-ranging bartending experiences, from skeevy dive bars to high-end cocktail places.
In a new, 20-second clip, TheBoi play-acted scenarios of a customer ordering a drink that would prompt him to immediately ask to see the person's ID before fulfilling the order.
'Orders that will make me double check your ID at the bar,' began the video, all narrated via text overlay, with The Boi silently pantomiming the scenarios.
A bartender, who's only known as TheBoi on TikTok, acted out exchanges with customers that would make him ask to see their ID before serving them
'Can I just get a shot of Tito's?' was the first order that would make the bartender raise his eyebrows.
'Can I get a Dirty Shirley really sweet and lots of cherries?' is another order that would make TheBoi skeptical of whether or not a customer is of legal drinking age, particularly given the childish nature of essentially wanting an alcoholic version of a Shirley Temple.
A simple order of a 'vodka soda' wouldn't immediately raise the bartender's suspicions unless the customer then shared an unusual brand preference.
TheBoi pantomimed responding, ''Yea, any preference on the vodka?''
Were the customer to give a totally ludicrous answer - say, the known tequila brand 'Patron' - that would be an instant underage-red flag to TheBoi.
Many of the hundreds who took to the comments bristled at the prospective judgement from their hypothetical bartender.
'This is why I hate going to bars. Any drink I order I always feel like I'm being judged,' grumbled one.
'I'm of age to drink but I swear to god bartenders judge you on ANY drink you order. Like dawg just let me get what I want in peace,' agreed a second.
Among the top underage red-flags for the bartender was ordering a plain shot of Tito's vodka
Elsewhere on his TikTok, the bartender insinuated he'd worked at a number of different establishments, from skeevy dives to high-end cocktail joints
In response, a number of commenters griped about feeling 'judged' when patronizing their local watering hole
Quite a few others were without shame in coming to the defense of the Dirty Shirley, an alcoholic version of a Shirley Temple that's made with vodka
To this, TheBoi confirmed, 'Silently but ya.'
'I'm 29 and still have no idea how to order. Plus my stutter doesn't help hahhaa,' a third admitted.
Still, quite a few others were without shame in taking a stand in defense of the Dirty Shirley, which is made with vodka, grenadine, lemon-lime soda and topped with a maraschino cherry or two.
'Handing over my ID for that Dirty Shirley every time POUR IT UP BABY,' declared one.
'I'll die on the hill that Dirty Shirleys are a SWEET TREAT FOR EVERY AGE!!!' a second insisted.
'Ok I just turned 21 and I never thought of a Dirty Shirley… Shirley Temples are my FAVE when I'm at a bar for live music but I'll have to try a Dirty Shirley heheh,' a third mused, to which TheBoi responded: 'Get that ID ready.'
In any case, in an email correspondence with DailyMail.com, the bartender stressed that the TikTok is satirical, and that he 'always' check the ID of customers who appear to be under the age of 40.
To be sure, TheBoi is far from the first bartender to take to social media with insights from their line of work, humorous and not so much.
San Francisco-based bartender Joshua laid out the 'number one' thing customers shouldn't do while seated at the bar, as DailyMail.com previously reported.
Elsewhere, seasoned bartender Michelle Charlotte Kimball, of Raleigh, North Carolina, broke down how ill-intentioned employees of bars attempt to rip off their employers and co-workers.
