Mica Miller's cause of death has been confirmed as a suicide, as a toxicology report dismisses claims that her estranged husband could have drugged her before her death, a new report obtained by DailyMail.com has revealed.

Mica, 30, whose husband pastored Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was found dead in Lumber River State Park over the state border in North Carolina on April 27.

Her death came days after she had served John-Paul Miller, 45 – known as 'JP' – with divorce papers.

Her death left those closest to her in shock and her family launched a Justice for Mica campaign in the days that followed, claiming that she was pushed to kill herself by Miller's actions.

Regina Ward, Mica's divorce attorney, previously claimed that JP had been prescribed lithium before Mica died and alleged, he could have given this to his wife to subdue her.

The attorney also claimed he could have controlled Mica while she was in this supposed state, telling DailyMail.com he was a 'narcissist' who 'projected his personal diagnosis'.

But the toxicology report has now dismissed this theory, as it reports that at the time off her death she had no drugs or alcohol in her system.

A postmortem conducted by North Carolina Medical Examiner Dr. Jennifer Altman shows that Mica shot herself in the right temple, with an exit wound present on the left side of her head.

It described the wound having gunpowder residue around the edges on the right, as well as a 'muzzle imprint' on the entrance.

Mica's body was found by a kayaker in the Lumber River at 4.23pm, 90 minutes after she had made a 911 call informing authorities she was about to kill herself.

She told the dispatcher that she wanted her family to be able to find her. Cops dispatched a drone to the area 39 minutes after the conversation.

Robeson County Sheriff's Department found two spent casings and one live round on the bank of the river, around 100 feet from Mica's body.

They removed her body in a boat, and noted that she had dirt and debris on her hands and clothing.

A 9mm sig Sauer pistol was found in the river five feet from the bank. The serial number matched a case found in Mica's car. She had boought the weapon oon the day of her death.

The report added: 'No signs of a physical struggle at the location of casing. Upon further consultation with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and law enforcement, there was no concern for foul play and an autopsy was not warranted.'

It also confirmed that Mica was hospitalized in 2022 for suicidal thoughts linked to her bipolar and dependent personality disorder, as well as THC dependence.

She was hospitalized a second time in February of 2024 by her therapist, with medical records stating that during that episode she showed 'increase paranoia with bizarre behavior' as well as Delta-8 THC gummy consumption.

Mica was given a prescription for hydroxyzine for anxiety weeks before her death. with her family confirming that she had attempted suicide once before with a gun.

A toxicology report also obtained by DailyMail.com showed that Mica had no drugs or alcohol in her system at the time of her death.

As part of the investigation report, it states that Mica was pronounced dead at 4:25pm on April 27, and was last seen alive at 2:54pm the same day

Her family have previously raised concerns about bruising on her hands, and the possibility that she had attempted to defend herself.

However the autopsy report shows that the medical examiner felt the injuries were 'minute' and consistent with Mica's body being removed from the river and brush.

The documents also revealed that Mica had a tattoo of her estranged husbands signature on her ribcage, in addition to a matching cross inking on both of their hands, and a third on their ring fingers.

Mica was found wearing a necklace as well as a metallic ring with a clear stone, a black watch, black bracelet and a pair of bid earrings.

The necklace became the focus of internet sleuths, after JP was seen wearing it in an interview just days after his wife died.

He has confirmed that the piece  did belong to his wife, saying he was given it after he saw her body, adding: 'I immediately put it on, to feel close to her. She loved that necklace.'

Mica had filed for divorce from her husband, whom she met when she was just 14 years old as a member of his youth church group. She had also filed in October 2023 citing adultery but withdrew that motion in February 2024.

This evidence of Mica wanting to split up, plus John-Paul's cavalier attitude following her death - including going out on a date with a new woman four days after she died – has led the family and passionate followers of the case to reject the official story and push for alternative answers.

Mica's sister Sierra has filed legal documents accusing Miller and Solid Rock of 'colluding' to 'defraud and deprive' the 30-year-old of her fair share of property after he 'sold' their home to the church.

In probate court her family filed documents claiming JP abused her and drove her to her death - with Mica calling the police on her husband over allegations of stalking and claims he slashed her tires.

JP recently filed to get all records of her family's case against him sealed, asking the his wife's family lawyer Regina Ward, to agree to the motion. Ward denied the request.

The motion said sealing the records would be 'for the safety of everyone involved' and would protect access to medical records involving doctor-patient confidentiality.

'If records were made public, it may cause harm to anyone involved in the case,' the filing stated.

Another reason J.P. Miller wants the records sealed is to avoid disclosing private information about the members of his church, which is also listed as a defendant in the case, according to the filing.

In probate court records, Mica's family has accused J.P. Miller of abusing her and driving her to live in fear.

About six weeks before her death, Mica had called the police on J.P. Miller at least three times, saying that he slashed her tires, tracked her car and shown up at a gas station to harass her, according to police reports.

The pastor has consistently denied allegations that he abused Mica, with the latest motion following an agreement that he will hand over Mica's belongings that she had on her the day she died over to her family.

Her family have also filed for Mica to have her maiden name of Francis restored, or to drop her married name making her Mica Acacia, her first and middle name.

If granted, the death certificate and all other relevant documents would reflect this change.

Sierra Francis, Mica's sister and appointed special administrator of her estate, has also asked the court to grant the appointment of a forensic expert to conduct a financial investigation into the marital estate.

The investigation is to account for any 'fraudulent transfers of marital property including money and accounts,' according to a May 7 filing.

JP is accused in court documents of grooming Mica for years from the age of 14, committing her to hospital so he could steal her car, and cheating on his first wife, Alison, with underage churchgoers.

He has not been charged in relation to her death.

In affidavits filed by Mica's family, they express their concern over her relationship with Miller who announced Mica's death casually during a service at Solid Rock Church on April 28, calling it 'self-induced'.

A week later at her memorial service he gave an emotional 20-minute speech telling church goers of her mental health struggles.

In the days after her death, Miller's friends and family held a rally outside the church where her husband previously worked and boycotted a memorial service he organized for her – holding their own on the beach.
