'We couldn't believe what we were seeing,' witness Emily Carr told WFLA. 'Holy c***, it's not stopping.

'The boat just kept coming and it was coming fast. It's something I've never seen, I'm 41 and grown up on that beach.

'Been around boats my entire life and never seen anything like it.'

Kathryn Levine-Katz added: 'We were out on the balcony screaming for people on the beach to move.'

No one on the beach was injured in the ordeal. The boat was later pulled back into the water by Tow Boat US.

NC Wildlife is investigating the circumstances around the incident.
