Billy Ray Cyrus has accused his estranged wife Firerose of 'physical, emotional and verbal abuse' as their explosive divorce battle rumbles on.
The 62-year-old country singer filed for divorce from Firerose, 36, following just seven months of marriage on May 23. He cited 'irreconcilable differences' and 'inappropriate marital conduct' for what led to her split.
The ensuing court battle has seen him claim she was after his money and Firerose accuse him of abuse - which he has fiercely denied.
Now, in new court documents filed in Tennessee on June 24, Cyrus has denied 'mindboggling' allegations of abuse towards her and claimed she abused him.
The docs obtained by People read: 'While the Plaintiff would acknowledge that he was certainly vocal, frustrated and angry with the Defendant in May 2024, it is the plaintiff who, in fact, has been abused. Not only verbally and emotionally by the Defendant, but PHYSICALLY abused by Defendant.'

In an affidavit, Scott Adkins, Cyrus' manager, claims he witnessed the abuse toward Cyrus - and Cyrus has cited as a denial of Firerose's abuse allegations against him a letter she allegedly left him after vacating their premarital residence.
The letter - provided as evidence - reads 'I am so sorry' and 'Please give me a chance to make this right. I can explain everything but I need you on my side.'
Cyrus also claims he questioned Firerose over alleged lies over her last name - and alleges she threatened to 'end his career' if he tried to divorce her by 'telling the public he 'asked for a split because she needed a double mastectomy.'
Cyrus also claims Firerose knew she was a carrier for the faulty BRCA1 gene mutation - which means she is at higher risk of breast and ovarian cancer - for four years, but that he did not know until after their marriage.
A representative for Firerose hit back at the claims in a statement to DailyMail.com, saying: 'His story keeps evolving and this filing is simply another abusive tactic to distract away from the serious, true allegations brought against him, backed by an abundance of evidence.
'The audacity to question a BRCA-positive women’s decision to undergo a preventative surgery further shows the kind of cruel manipulation Firerose was subjected to.'
Firerose previously claimed the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker filed for divorce just 24 hours before she was reportedly scheduled to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.
In Firerose's complaint, she denied being guilty of inappropriate marital conduct and claimed it was Cyrus who made living together 'unsafe.'
She claimed in the weeks leading up to her preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery, recommended by her doctor in March, were 'chaos.'
The performer, who is a carrier of the BRCA1 gene mutation, also alleged that her spouse 'continuously launched verbal assaults' at her and placed her 'into an emotional and psychological prison.'
'When Wife would attempt to voice certain concerns, Husband would often call her a 'selfish f**king b**ch' and continually alleged that she was using him,' the complaint read.

Firerose claims that less than 24 hours before she was supposed to undergo surgery, he filed for divorce, and that 'Cyrus's brother and sister-in-law banged on her bedroom door for three-and-a-half hours that day demanding she leave their shared home.'
She said she did and made the decision to postponed her surgery 'indefinitely' as she no longer has a permanent residence and 'was allegedly relying on Cyrus' health insurance and previous promises to pay for her surgery.'
Firerose, who is requesting alimony from Cyrus, proceeded to accuse Cyrus of intentionally trying to sabotage her career 'in retaliation.'
'The accumulation of years of verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse, combined with the fact that Husband has had a direct hand in restricting Wife's access to income and future opportunities, Wife has developed severe emotional distress from Husband's actions,' the complaint read. 'Wife has had to seek psychological treatment from her therapist for emergency sessions on more than one occasion.'
Cyrus's attorneys denied Firerose's claims to DailyMail.com.
This comes just days after Billy Ray's legal team branded Firerose's allegations against him 'confusing and suspicious', following the news that she had accused him of exhibiting 'extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse'.
But in a statement, Billy Ray's lawyers have hit back at her allegations as they claimed she 'begged' him to reconcile days after he applied to formally end their marriage.
The country singer filed for divorce from the singer - whose real name is Johanna Hodges - in May after just over six months of marriage and now insiders have claimed that he believes that she did not marry him for love
The statement added: 'If Mr. Cyrus was truly guilty of the allegations that [Firerose] alleges in her pleadings, then it is mindboggling to try and explain why she would want to return to live with him.
'Furthermore, she was pleading with him to give her a chance to explain everything to him.'
After Firerose filed her divorce petition on 14 June, Billy Ray's team responded and submitted their own complaint on 17 June, a supplement to his initial annulment and divorce complaint that was lodged on 23 May.
He alleged his estranged wife 'had been conducting a campaign to isolate' him from his family and blocked him from communicating with a daughter since the May filing, and also included a handwritten note he claimed had been penned by Firerose.
His lawyers, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley, told People Billy Ray had 'discovered' the letter in which Firerose was 'professing her love and need to be with Mr. Cyrus' when he returned to his home two days after she 'was required, by Court Order, to vacate his residence of over 25 years.'
A source told People: 'He is more relieved every day that he's done with his marriage. His instincts have been correct all along. He believes she only married him for financial and other reasons. He's convinced that she didn't marry him for love'
The note read: 'I miss you more than I can possibly explain in words Baby.
'Please let's work this out and not become anything but closer out of this hellish experience.
'I need you. I love you. I am so sorry.'
The Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker - who split from Tish Cyrus in 2022 after almost 30 years of marriage - began dating Firerose in 2022, but had met her more than a decade before, when she was auditioning for a project at the same studios where he and Miley Cyrus, 31, filmed 'Hannah Montana' for the Disney Channel.
