A pilot and another person were killed in a small plane crash just three years after the airman survived a similar accident.
Óscar Marín was flying over the northwestern city of Juan de Acosta when the aircraft plummeted into a farm.
The 56-year-old lawyer and his copilot, Diego García, 52, were both pronounced dead on the scene.
Local outlets reported that Marín was flying at a low altitude while others reported that he was attempting to return to the Los Campanos Aeroclub after taking off due to bad weather conditions.
Residents alerted the police of the crash around 8:30 am and could be seen on video gathering around the plane wreckage with Marín and García trapped inside.

Atlántico Police commander, colonel John Urrea, told reporters that first responders were unable to reach the crash site in a timely manner due to thunderstorms in the area.
'According to what was stated by the residents of the sector, this plane was observed flying over at a very low altitude and from one moment to the next they observed how one of the engines turned off and later they stated, a strong impact was heard,' Urrea said.
Authorities have not said what caused the plane crash.
Marín, who also taught at a university, was known for flying regularly in the northwestern Colombia province of Atlántico near the Caribbean Sea.
He escaped death in January 2021 when the small aircraft he was flying crashed into a residence in the municipality of Copacabana, 13 miles north of Medellín.
Marín was joined by a copilot for a flight in the Valley of Aburrá after taking off from Olaya Herrera Airport in Medellín.

However, he alerted the control tower that he was about to return to due to a mechanical failure.
Marín was instructed to ascend the aircraft to 6,500 feet to prepare to land at the airport. He lost control of the plane and slammed into the roof of a home.
'I have had several of these situations and I believe that the one on the plane is the least serious because I was always conscious,' Marín told Noticias Caracol following the crash. 'But yes, statistics say that I was born again is an opportunity that life gives me.'
