Chris Young revealed his stepfather, Michael Harris suffered a heart attack on the same day he was set to perform a scheduled concert over the weekend.
On Sunday, following his performance in Greeley, Colorado, the country music star penned an emotional Instagram post, in which he thanked fans for their unwavering support and expressed relief that his stepdad was on the road to recovery .
'I don’t even have the words… on a day where my dad had a heart attack you lifted me up,' he told his fans. 'I love country music fans. I’m happy I played. I’m happy my dad is ok. Much love to all of you.'
The Drinkin' Me Lonely hitmaker, 39, also shared photos of himself on stage from the show, with his bandmates and the sweet moment that hundreds of attendees raised their phone flashlights up as he performed at the Greeley Stampede.
A number of his 1.5 million followers rushed to extend their well-wishes and prayers to Young and his family in the comment section.

'Chris, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I’m glad to hear he’s doing well. I will say a prayer for him,' one wrote.
Another fan commented: 'So happy to hear your dad is ok. I know it is a scary situation.'

Others praised him for mustering up the strength to get through his concert.
Young's stepfather has battled a number of health issues, over the years, including his first heart attack in the mid-2000s.
In 2009, Harris was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Two years later, Young told Taste of Country that his stepfather had a 'third of his lung out' and went through chemotherapy as part of his cancer treatment.
'He’s actually doing really well. He’s doing great. But through all of that, I don’t think I’ve ever really seen him get down in the dumps...Every day he gets up, it’s a good day, and that’s something I really think I’ll pass on to everybody,' Young said.

Young, who refers to Harris as his 'Dad' in interviews and on social media, previously shared an emotional video of himself surprising Harris with a brand-new car for Christmas.
'My dad has been driving the same truck for well over a decade. I decided he needed a new one this year. I love you dad!' he captioned footage of him unveiling the surprise.
He's also shared images of them on Father's Day as well as screenshots of their text message exchanges on social media.
In one Facebook post, Young posted a photo of Harris with the caption: 'This is my step dad only by technicality.'

Young was the Season Four winner of the television program Nashville Star in 2006 and has since rose to fame with his hit songs, including Drinkin' Me Lonely and You're Gonna Love Me; seen in March 2022 in Las Vegas

Harris proposed to the superstar's mother, Becky Harris, on Valentine's Day when he Young was still a child.
