Princess Beatrice enjoyed another night out on Wednesday at Maria Sharapova's party - after a busy few weeks involving trips to Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park

Prince Andrew's eldest daughter, 35, joined her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi for the intimate dinner at The Twenty Two in London - alongside A-listers including Rita Ora and husband Taika Waititi.

Sharapova was celebrating the 20th anniversary of her first Wimbledon title at the event hosted by Imran Amed and Kristina Romanova.

And she was joined by her fiancé Alexander Gilkes, whose connections to the royals go back years.

Alex, who lives in New York, co-founded online art auction house Paddle8 in 2010 and briefly employed Princess Eugenie – who he refers to as ‘Eug’.

Old Etonian Alex was previously married to Meghan Markle's close pal Misha Nonoo for four years before splitting in 2016

Beatrice and her younger sister Eugenie were both at Alex's 2012 wedding where US pop star Lana Del Rey performed.

He is also said to be good pals with Princes William and Harry, who also attended Eton College.

Now, he is engaged to retired tennis star Maria, who posed with a beaming Beatrice for several snaps at the event.

Princess Beatrice looked sophisticated in a bright blue maxi skirt and a seafoam green satin blouse, adding a leather blazer with gold buttons for a trendy look.

Edo opted for a relaxed but smart look with a button down white shirt paired with high-waisted trousers.

They were pictured smiling with each other in the taxi home after an enjoyable and sociable evening.

The royal couple were joined at the event by stars including Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina, Joel Edgerton and Rita Ora and her husband Taika Waititi - and campaigner Malala Yousafzai.

Maria and Alex were first linked at the start of 2018 and announced the birth of their first child together, Theodore, in 2022.

The couple had attended Wimbledon tennis together earlier on Wednesday, where they were pictured smiling in the royal box.

Gilkes married New York fashion designer and Meghan Markle's BFF Misha Nonoo in 2012, but they split in 2016.

Art auctioneer Alex - who speaks fluent Russian - is also the co-founder of Squared Circles and auction platform Paddle 8.

Gilkes is known to have attended Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in 2018.

Pippa Middleton, thought to be a former flame of his younger brother Charlie, and James Middleton were also at the wedding, while his friends are said to include Sir Elton John, Madonna and Eddie Redmayne.

Alex also attended both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May 2018 and Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's in April 2011.

British-Bahraini fashion designer Misha, who lives in New York and is known for her eponymous clothing line, married oil tycoon Mikey Hess in 2019.

At one point, it was believed Misha was the royal matchmaker, but Prince Harry revealed in his book Spare that it was another mutual pal, Violet Von Westenholz, who set them up.

Meghan and Misha's relationship reportedly goes back years, according to the bombshell biography Finding Freedom - co-authored by journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand - which documented their friendship.

According to the biography, the pair 'hit it off immediately'.

Maria was joined by a slew of famous faces to celebrate her famous victory on the Centre Court in 2004 on Wednesday evening.

She first rocketed to fame when she beat top seed and defending champion Serena Williams at Wimbledon to claim her first Grand Slam at the age of just 17.

Sharapova retired from playing tennis four years ago after battling with injuries, but had the final years of her time in the sport marred by a failed drugs test.

A 2016 test saw her suspended for two years after she was found to have ingested meldonium, a substance which had been banned at the start of that year, ahead of the Australian Open.

Her suspension was later reduced to 15 months after she was found to have taken the drug as per her doctor's advice.

Her last appearance as a player at Wimbledon came in 2010 when Maria retired from her first round contest against Pauline Parmentier with an injury.
