California toddler aged 15 months dies after falling out window

A one-year-old California boy died after he fell out of a window of an apartment building, according to officials.

Ulises Gonzalez Rodriguez died after he fell more than 20 feet from the second-story of a building in San Francisco's Mission neighborhood last week.

First responders found the child's mother holding him in her arms when they arrived at the scene.

He had life-threatening injuries and died later at San Francisco General Hospital.

Authorities have not revealed how he fell from a window that was about 20 feet high.

His parents' names have also not been revealed by police. 

Supporters of Ulises' family have donated more than 20,000 to a GoFundMe account.

The organizer of the GoFundMe, Ulises' grandmother Christina Canaveral, wrote: 'On Wednesday, July 3, 2024 our world lost the most precious angel; Ulises Gonzalez Rodriguez.

'The unimaginable has happened to this family, as no parent should have to say goodbye to their child.

'We are hoping to raise money for funeral expenses, and care in particular for mom as she goes through this indescribable grief. 

'For close friends, we will also be sharing a meal train and times to come and be in community and process with the family, as well as details of the funeral and memorial service. 

'Please help in anyway you can, and let us wrap our arms around this special family that is going through the worst possible circumstance.'

Child Protective Services is investigating the child's death.
