Caitlin Clark playfully teased boyfriend Connor McCaffery on Saturday as she posted on Instagram for his birthday.

The couple both played basketball at the University of Iowa and met in school as Clark became a household name around the country.

And the Indiana Fever rookie joked about some friendly competition between the pair as McCaffrey turned 26.

'Happy Birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy :) thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life,' she wrote. 'May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me ;) Love you always.'

Clark posted four photos in the Instagram carousel, including one of McCaffery kissing her head and another of them hugging on the court.

While McCaffery didn't quite become a college star like Clark, he proved himself to be a reliable player over six seasons for the Hawkeyes.

He played in 166 games (with 89 starts) and averaged 4.5 points per contest along with 3.7 assists.

Clark, as she mentioned, definitely has him beat in the shooting category as he shot just 31.7 percent from three over his career.

The Fever rookie - who was initially left off the USA Olympic roster - has been handed a lifeline for Paris with Diana Taurasi battling a leg injury.

The six-time Olympian and Phoenix Mercury guard Taurasi has missed her team's last four WNBA games with the issue.
