More than 50,000 people are descending on Milwaukee, Wisconsin this week for the Republican National Convention in the wake of an assassination attempt on the Donald Trump.
A shooter hit Trump's ear during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday before being shot dead by Secret Service. One rally attendee is deceased and others are injured.
But Trump is still going full steam ahead to Milwaukee this week for the Republican National Convention where he will end the week as the GOP presidential nominee for the third time in a row.
DailyMail.com breaks down all the details of this year's convention and what to watch as the events unfold and how it's affected after the historic assassination attempt.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, opened fire at the former president during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday. He clipped Trump's ear but the campaign says he is otherwise 'fine.'
The gunman was quickly neutralized by U.S. Secret Service and one rally goer was killed and two others are critically injured and still in the hospital but in 'stable condition.'
With blood running down Trump's face, the 2024 candidate raised his fist in the air and shouted 'fight' as he was escorted off stage by a circle of multiple members of his Secret Service security detail.
'President Trump is doing well and grateful to law enforcement and first responders for their fast action,' Trump campaign senior advisors Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita said in a Saturday statement.
They added: 'President Trump looks forward to joining you all in Milwaukee as we proceed with our convention to nominate him to serve as the 47th President of the United States.'
The rally on Saturday was meant to kick-off the Convention festivities as Trump prepares to become the official nominee while acting as the de facto candidate for months.
It's unclear so far how this incident will affect the already tight security perimeter around the Convention or the plans to keep the events safe.
But reporting indicates that security plans are being 'reexamined' on Sunday.

The 2024 GOP Convention is at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Official events will take place starting around 6:00 p.m. each night from Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.
Other activities will occur on the campus around the arena starting around 1:00 p.m. each day of the Convention and some closed-press meetings and gatherings will commence each day around Milwaukee.
By the end of the week, the Republican Party will officially name Trump as their nominee for president in November.
Fiserv Forum opened in 2018 and is the home of the Milwaukee Bucks professional NBA basketball team and the college basketball team the Golden Eagles of Marquette University.
The arena has a capacity of about 18,000 when set up for concerts.
Milwaukee was chosen as ground zero for the nomination this year after Wisconsin swung blue in 2020 after voting red for Trump in 2016.
'President Trump and the Republican Party are committed to winning the Midwest – the new fulcrum point of presidential elections.' RNC Spokesman Kush Desai told DailyMail.com.
The significance of the midwest in this election is underscored by the fact both the RNC and Democratic National Committee (DNC) decided to hold their respective nominating contests in the rust belt.

The Democratic Convention is in Chicago, Illinois in August.
Wisconsin is a vital battleground for the 2024 election – as are many rest belt states like Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Trump won Wisconsin with 47.2 percent of the vote in 2016 – just a 0.7 percent margin over then Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Then in 2020 the state flipped blue for Biden by a 0.6 percent margin over Trump.
Democratic Mayor Cavalier Johnson's Director of Communications Jeff Fleming told DailyMail.com of the selection for the convention site: 'Milwaukee is the largest city in Wisconsin, a state that will be important in determining who wins the Presidential election in November.'
'Both Republicans and Democrats are focused on wooing voters in our state,' he continued. 'That was certainly a factor in the Republican's site selection process, just as it was in 2020 when the Democrats selected Milwaukee as the location for their Presidential nominating convention.'
Democratic Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson's office told DailyMail.com of the location for the GOP Convention: 'Both Republicans and Democrats are focused on wooing voters in our state. That was certainly a factor in the Republican's site selection process, just as it was in 2020 when the Democrats selected Milwaukee... for their Presidential nominating convention'
All 2,429 Republican delegates from across the country will descend on Milwaukee for the Convention. Some will bring family members and other guests.
To secure the Republican nomination, a candidate must earn 1,215 of those delegates.
Members of Trump's family who are announced to attend the Convention are his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as Don Jr.'s partner Kimberly Guilfoyle and Eric's wife Lara Trump – who was elected earlier this year as co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
Former First Lady Melania Trump is also preparing to make a major appearance at the Convention after months of staying away from presidential race, DailyMail.com learned.
It remains unclear if she will address the crowd.
Some former 2024 contenders who dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump will make an appearance at the Convention. This includes the likes of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis – who will make a speech on the main stage – South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Fellow former 2024 competitor and one-time South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is now expected top make remarks at the Convention, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Haley was the last to drop out of the GOP race against Trump for the nomination earlier this year and has already release her 97 delegates to the former president and said she will be casting her ballot for him in November.
Her team previously disclosed that Haley was not invited to attend the Convention and was 'fine with that.'
'Trump deserves the convention he wants. She's made it clear she's voting for him and wishes him the best,' they added.
When asked about the Haley snub last week, Trump said he would look into it.
Trump's vice presidential pick will also be in Milwaukee – and the former president said he will either announced who that is right before the Convention or during the events.
Approximately 15,000 members of the press are credentialed and expected to attend the Convention, the RNC communications team told DailyMail.com.
Members of the GOP from across the country will also attend, as well as lawmakers and other honored guests.

Hundreds – and maybe even thousands – of national and local lawmakers are heading to Milwaukee for the convention.
Among the notable attendees are Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and J.D. Vance, both floated as VP picks, Reps. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) and Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem – a one-time-VP contender who flubbed her chances after revealing she shot her dog.
Some former White House officials who will amke an appearance at the GOP Convention include Kellyanne Conway, Ben Carson – who is in the veepstakes – Mike Pompeo and Tom Homan.
A source familiar with planning said that there are likely to be some performances and guest speakers not involved in the nominating process but invited to talk about issues and personal experiences important to the Republican agenda in 2024.
Rapper and influencer Amber Rose will be at the Convention as well as Country music star Chris Janson and UFC CEO Dana White.
The Trump campaign and RNC announced a line-up of 'every day Americans' who will speak at the Convention to highlight issues important to the agenda.
Among the speakers are Anne Fundner, a mother who lost her 15-year-old son to fentanyl-laced pills and moved from California after authorities there would not pursue prosecution for her son's overdose.
Shabbos Kestenbaum is a Jewish American alumnus of Harvard University who will speak about how 'Joe Biden's America threaten the lives of everyday Jewish Americans' amid the war between Israel and Hamas terrorists.
U.S. Secret Service requires that protesters and others who intend to demonstrate at the Convention register and sign-up for the Demonstration Speakers Platform and Parade Route.
Those registered are required to remain in the designated First Amendment zone.
The Parade Route allows groups to move and march to express their views, while the Speakers Platform gives demonstrators a time slot for an opportunity to make remarks and speeches about their cause.
The platform and parade route are 'both within sight and sound access of the Republican National Convention,' according to USSS.
RNC Chairman Michael Whatley told Fox News Sunday after the shooting the day prior that 'in terms of the physical sense, the arena is set. The security is here.'
'We feel very comfortable that we're working with the Secret Service, we're working with 40 different law enforcement agencies in terms of what that security is going to look like,' he added.
During a press conference on Sunday, USSS said 'we're not completing any changes to our operational security plans for this event.'
'We're confident in the plans that we have and we are moving forward with those plans,' they added.

USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle held a press conference with local and federal law enforcement in Milwaukee on June 22 where she detailed security protocols and precautions being taken to ensure a safe Convention
Director of USSS Kimberly Cheatle held a press conference with other law enforcement officials in Milwaukee on Friday, June 22 to preview security plans and outline where demonstrators will be able to gather and make their voices heard on the sidelines of the Convention.
'The Mayor's office worked with the United States Secret Service and local law enforcement to identify appropriate demonstration areas,' Mayor Cavalier Johnson's Director of Communications Jeff Fleming told DailyMail.com.
Specifically, Fleming noted, local businesses were concerned about demonstrations disrupting their operations. This is one of the main reasons a location was decided that sits north of the Convention but is still in 'direct line-of-sight to the front door of Fiserv Forum.'
Just hours after USSS press conference last month, one of the most prominent groups planning to lead protests at the RNC slammed the plans to keep them contained during demonstrations.
Co-chair of the Coalition to March on the RNC 2024, Omar Flores, claimed the city's plans to work with USSS to keep them contained is 'insulting.'
The 'hard' security zone detailed at the press conference would encompass the primary convention sites of Fiserv Forum on the north down to the Baird Center on the south. The Secret Service is offering areas in parks to the north and south ends of that zone for protesters.
Despite the USSS website's claims to the contrary, Floes said: 'It's completely insulting for them to offer either of those parks because they're not within sight and sound of the Fiserv Forum.'
'I know of no significant concerns expressed about how law enforcement is managing protesters,' the mayor's office noted.
Republicans were very focused on making sure delegates were able to stay at hotels in Milwaukee or surrounding Wisconsin towns. They said that it was important that Wisconsin businesses were able to reap the benefits of the convention being hosted there.
After Democrats were slammed for booking hotel clusters near Chicago, Illinois instead of in Milwaukee for their 2020 convention, Republicans are making sure that all convention activity is kept close to the Wisconsin city.
'From day one of the convention planning process, we committed to making the 2024 Republican National Convention a Wisconsin-centered convention to truly highlight everything the state has to offer while putting Milwaukee on the world stage,' RNC Spokesman Kush Desai told DailyMail.com.
'From keeping 100% of our hotel contracts in the state to working hand in glove with local businesses to make our convention plans a reality, everything we have done on the ground underscores that the days of the Democrats' mythical 'Blue Wall' in the Midwest are gone.'
Some reports emerged a month before the convention claiming that Trump planned to stay in Chicago inside of Milwaukee. But his campaign immediately replied to the reports, claiming it was not true.
But the outlets claim the campaign changed plans and rebooked Trump in Milwaukee once they reached out to his team to ask about his plan for accommodations for the week.
The RNC has organized a day time festival of sorts where local Wisconsin businesses can set up to promote their products to Convention pass holders.
Delegates, guests, media, staff and others given credentials to be inside the security perimeter for the Convention will have access to Convention Fest.
A source familiar with planning told DailyMail.com that local businesses, restaurants, retail and event companies will be set up at tents outside Fiserv Forum to give those at the event a taste of what Wisconsin has to offer.
'A lot of people, it's their first time in Milwaukee,' they noted, claiming that the RNC wants the city to leave a good impression on visitors who may have never been to Wisconsin before.
Convention Fest will also include events and live entertainment.

Just weeks before the convention, Trump was plagued with reports claiming he called Milwaukee a 'horrible city' during a closed-door meeting with Republicans in Washington, D.C. in June.
Trump denied the reports and lawmakers later came out to confirm that Trump never dissed the Convention hosting city.
But the news cycle led to some concerns over Trump's perception of a major city in one of the state's crucial to winning in 2024.
Just days after the comments were reported, Trump held a rally in Racine, Wisconsin, which is just 30 miles south of Milwaukee. There he defended his love for Milwaukee and the state overall but acknowledged some work needed to be done to address crime.
