A furious airline passenger has taken aim at 'entitled' travelers in a furious Reddit rant, slamming fliers for the rude behavior they show towards staff.  

In a bid to curb peoples' anger, the irate traveler has spoken out about the lack of respect that they see being directed towards airline customer service agents and airport staff. 

In a post simply titled 'entitled passengers', the Delta Air Lines customer wrote: 'While I understand that delays are so frustrating... or you experienced [an] inconvenience while flying. 

'I totally get that you need help or you feel that Delta owes you something like compensation or reimbursement. 

'What I don't understand is why being rude with customer service or airport agents when asking for help? Why being mean towards the person who is trying to help you? Does it give you a sense of joy and pride when you are being mean?'

The Redditor highlighted that it 'won't cost anything to be a little kind' and it is important to understand 'that it is not their fault as well.' 

They also noted that 'harsh words and attitudes' could impact someone's mental health and even nudge them to leave their job. 

Rounding out their rant, the Redditor applauded those who 'remain kind despite the inconvenience.'

They wrote: 'You are one of a kind! This world needs more of you rather than those entitled people. 

'Also, treat those who work behind the scenes like customer service through phone and messaging kindly, we are all human and trying our best to help each other.'

Ending with a call to action, they concluded: 'Always remember to not caused someone else's misery, people. That's all. Thank you! I hope you all enjoy your flights while being kind.

'It's 2024 and people are still crazy!!! If you're one of those crazy people, you might want to update your attitude or personality.'

In response to the post, many Redditors applauded the author's sentiments.

One commenter also recounted a recent incident where they witnessed ill treatment of airport staff.

They revealed: 'I saw some of the rudest people ever this weekend when we were stuck in Paris Charles de Gaulle after our flight from Barcelona was almost two hours late. 

'The patience they got from customer service employees wasn't deserved at all and their behavior made standing near them really uncomfortable for me.' 

Another commenter mused: 'I'll never understand people who are having a problem they can't solve on their own being rude to the only person capable of solving their problem. 

'Morality aside it's straight up counter productive.' 

Agreeing on the ineffectiveness of being rude, a Redditor wrote: 'Exactly. I am always nice to customer facing employees because I worked in those types of positions for years (and I believe you should always treat others as you'd like to be treated). 

'I cannot tell you how many times simply being nice has resulted in me getting upgrades or extra help with something. 

'I ended up with a free upgrade to D1 on an international flight during Snowmageddon a couple years ago, and the only reason I think it happened was because I was nice and understanding to a person who had literally hundreds of people being horrible to her (I did not ask for an upgrade - it was a surprise to me).'
