The top 10 best hot springs in the country have been revealed and an East Coast destination made the top spot.
Although hot springs are commonly found in Western states, including Arizona, Colorado, Utah, few are located in the East Coast.
Hot springs, also referred to as hydrothermal springs, are made up of geothermally heated groundwater found on the earth's surface. The water is heated up by magma or by circulation through faults in the Earth's crust.
People have long enjoyed hot springs for their healing, relaxation and therapeutic benefits. Other East Coast locations can be found in North Carolina, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Top travel experts with USA Today narrowed down the top 10 best hot springs in the US that each offer their own unique tranquil oasis.

It costs $30 per person for a 50 minute soak from Tuesday-Friday and $35 a person over the weekend and on major holidays.
Although some hot springs welcome guests to enjoy the warm water nude, the resort requires everyone to be in swimsuits.
The hot spring is unaffected by weather changes as the natural body of water remains crystal clear with high levels of mineral content. 1,700million gallons of water flows in the hot spring per day.
