A Little League game in Wilson, North Carolina was interrupted when the umpire traded blows with one of the coaches.

During the fifth inning of Monday's game between Cherryville and Durham's Bull City Little League team, a Cherryville coach was ejected for an apparent use of profanity during the 12-and-under contest.

The umpire, later identified by WRAL as Robby Beamon, was approached by the coach. After exchanging words, the coach proceeded to shove Beamon - which led to the escalation.

With another official standing between them, Beamon started swinging his mask and striking the coach with it. As the pair tussled, Beamon kept swinging while his target pushed him out of frame.

Several coaches from Cherryville tried to separate the pair as another official is seen standing still by home plant. Meanwhile, players and concerned parents looked on as the chaos unfolded.

When the pair returned in-frame, the umpire is seen being restrained by coaches on the ground.

'We have no tolerance for this type of behavior,' Wilson Parks and Recreation Director David Lee said in a statement to the stations.

'There are a lot of people working hard to make sure our youth are having a positive experience and it's just unfortunate and honestly embarrassing that two adults ruined that last night.'

According to WRAL, the brawl lasted just a little over a minute and Wilson police arrived at the seen after the incident cooled off. Although both men are facing suspensions from city officials, neither filed charges, per CBS 17.

The rest of the North Carolina State Tournament games continued as scheduled despite Monday's chaotic interruption.
