An angry Spirit Airlines gate agent was caught having an epic meltdown as she lashed out at passengers waiting to board their flight.

The bizarre incident occurred at Hollywood Burbank Airport in California after an earlier flight was delayed for eight hours.

The clip, recorded by a nearby passenger, showed a massive crowd of passengers gathered around a gate as the overwhelmed Spirit employees freaked out while trying to board them on the aircraft.

The odd moment begins with the female agent with glasses, dressed in all black and a neon yellow vest, screaming at the crowd.

'Can I have everybody's attention right now?' she yells at the start of her rant.

A passenger replies: 'Go ahead, girl!'

The employee then yells: 'Right now!' as she balls up her fists and scrunches her face.

She asks: 'All right! Now, do you all wanna get on this flight or not?'

A passenger says: 'Yes we do, girl!'

The angry worker says: 'All right! So, everyone's gonna shut up and we're gonna say this once and we're only gonna say it again because we're frustrated as hell!'

The group of frustrated passengers listen to the agent as some of them laugh and others look confused. Some of them start to shout 'woo!' at the employee.

A second gate agent with a long braided ponytail, glasses, dressed in a bright orange vest, tried to remain calm but soon joined her coworker in the outrageous antics.

She picks up the radio and screams: 'Please, be quiet so I can think of what's going on!

'I don't even know what aircraft's here because everybody's screaming numbers.

'I don't know what I have. I'm gonna be honest. I don't know what aircraft's sitting out there. I don't know what's going on.

She adds: 'You guys won't give me a minute. Please give me a minute. Please!'

A passenger with blonde hair, dressed in a white t-shirt, responds: 'You go girl. Take a minute.' The group then starts to applaud as the video ends.

Kevin Eis, who was boarding another flight to Las Vegas when he captured the absurd incident, was left in shock.

'Oh my God, it was the most chaotic thing that ever happened to me at an airport.

'I hope these people learn their lesson,' Eis told Inside Edition

A spokesperson told DailyMail.com the agents involved in the chaotic incident have since been suspended.

'We are aware of the video, and the two agents involved are no longer working with Spirit following the completion of our vendor’s internal investigation into the matter.

'We apologize to our guests for this experience, which does not reflect Spirit’s high standards for guest service.'

This isn't the first time the low-cost airline has been caught up in an intense moment, as four Spirit employees beat down a customer on May 28.

Wild footage from Baltimore Airport about 4.15pm that day showed the traveler getting angry with one of the check-in staff and spoiling for a fight.
