A Melbourne mum has shared five little known iPhone tricks everybody should be using - and one of them has been described as a complete game-changer.

Chantel Ibbotson, who goes by Mama Mila online, shared the handy hacks last week in a video with her 2.8million followers.

The tips cover everything from better audio in noisy places, a safety feature with location sharing, calming ambient noises and even a handy swiping tip to save you precious time.

Most people had never heard of the tricks, but those who were already using them agreed they were great.

Voice isolation

Everyone knows how annoying trying to take a phone call in a loud room can be.

Chantel recommends using your iPhone's voice isolation feature to make your phone calls louder than the background noise.

Simply swipe down from the top right hand corner of your screen to open the control centre, then tap mic mode and select voice isolation.

This will dim others sounds while increasing the voice on the call, making it easier to hear.

Swiping pages quickly

Chantel also saves time by swiping between different pages and apps on her iPhone by using a shortcut.

To do this, users need to just rapidly flick across the bottom of the iPhone's screen.

This is quicker and less complicated than opening and closing each app or page.

Calming noise function

Rather than just stressing you out, your iPhone can be used to create more zen.

To access calming background noises go to settings and choose control centre and then hearing to play soothing sounds like 'rain' or 'stream'.

Your iPhone will immediately become a white noise machine, perfect for focused study, sleep and relaxation.

The check in function

Chantel calls this a 'really great safety tool' - particularly useful for parents or those travelling alone.

Your iPhone lets you set a reminder to let someone know you've arrived safely at your destination.

If you forget to send the notification then your iPhone will automatically share a link with your last available location.

This feature not only lets friends know you've arrived but can also share your battery percentage and available mobile phone signal.

The compressed keyboard

You can also access your iPhone's compressed keyboard for one handed typing that makes multi tasking so much easier.

To use this convenient feature go to settings, then general and select keyboard - then opt to turn on the one-handed keyboard function.

This shrinks the keyboard down and makes easy work out of one handed texting and typing.

Fans appreciated the under the radar iPhone tips giving the video 353,000 likes.

Someone else was surprised that Apple wasn't making the voice isolation feature more known.

'That's huge', they said.

One iPhone user who was already onto the calming noise function thought it deserved a chef's kiss emoji.
