An American man was found dead inside a Colombia apartment after allegedly consuming a drug that is used by veterinarian to euthanize pets.
Matthew Miller, 42, is said to have sent a Telegram message to his former girlfriend, who lives in Medellín, on Tuesday afternoon complaining about having lost a business he operated via an OnlyFans account and his home, a source with knowledge of the investigation told DailyMail.com.
The woman and three friends rushed to the seventh-floor apartment in the Medellín neighborhood of Laureles and found the door closed.
One of the individuals who accompanied Miller's ex-girlfriend was able to enter the home and found him lying on a bed before authorities were called.
The source said that Miller's cause of death has been ruled a suicide by poisoning.
They added that Miller and his former girlfriend, who has resided in Medellín for three years, ended their relationship one month ago. It's unknown how long they had been dating for.

A police report obtained by Colombian weekly news magazine Semana indicated that Miller had taken Thanesia, a liquid chemical that is used to put pets to sleep.
'It's reported that the deceased sent a message to a close friend indicating that he had lost the company, the house, and explained other reasons, which is why he made the decision to take his own life,' the report said.
Bhupendra Kumal, a 66-year-old Ireland national, was found dead at his hotel in the Medellín neighborhood of El Poblado on Tuesday.
Kumal arrived in the South American country in February and told hotel staff that he was suffering from an illness.
The police report indicated that his body didn't show signs of violence. An autopsy report is pending.
According to authorities, 16 of the 37 foreign visitors who have died in Medellín and the Aburrá Valley in 2024 were U.S. citizens.
At least seven of the 37 deaths have been registered as suicides.
Miller's and Kumal's deaths comes just five days after James Perry, a 41-year-old Ohio resident, leapt to his death from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room, also in Laureles, according to the National Police.
