Worst Ex Ever premieres on Netflix on August 14 and centers around four true stories of horror exes.

The docuseries features testimonials from victims of terrible relationships, often culminating in violent situations that left people fearing for their lives.

The trailer shows clips of frantic 911 calls, spliced with heartbreaking accounts from people who found themselves in a position they never thought they'd be in.

The calls and stories are overlaid with once-happy photos of couples and animated renderings showing the heinous crimes that occurred.

'I'm scared to open the door,' one phone call played, while another account from a police officer recalled there being 'blood splatter strewn about the entire hallway.'

Other shots show sirens wailing and people being loaded into ambulances as well as bodycam footage from police officers when ransacking homes and collecting evidence.

According to the show's description, the series is 'built around the universal feeling of wondering how much you really know about your partner.'

'Composed of compelling testimonials, bodycam footage and animated reenactments, Worst Ex Ever reveals the disturbing stories of monstrous past relationships,' the synopsis reads.

There are four 60-minute episodes in the highly anticipated documentary, with the series tells the chilling betrayals of broken-down relationships and the fallout that followed.

The series promises to bring viewers 'shocking tales of betrayal, violence, and deceit.'

These include murder plots, this true-crime docuseries dissects the dark side of love through eyewitness testimonies.

Worst Ex Ever is executive produced by Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Gretchen Palek, Jordana Hochman and Cynthia Childs. 

Childs also directed the series. The show hails from Blumhouse Television and ITV America.

It comes after Netflix's Worst Roommate Ever was a smash hit, which premiered on the streaming service in 2022.

The true crime documentary features renters sharing their horror stories about their former roommates.

The stories included a violent squatter who refused to leave the house and was living under a fake name and a woman who tried to poison her roommate to gain custody of her child.

Worst Ex Ever is available to stream on Netflix from August 14.
