Donald Trump promised before his RNC speech he would not reference Joe Biden by name, but the former president couldn't resist slamming the current once on Thursday evening.

During the Republican presidential nominee's marathon speech he almost held true to his word.

But after recounting his near-death assassination attempt, decrying the 'open borders' and electric vehicle mandates, he decided to take his shot.

'If you took the ten worst presidents in the history of the United States, think of it the ten worst, added them up, they will not have done the damage that Biden has done.'

Trump continued: 'Only going to use the term once, Biden, I'm not going to use the name any more just one time.'

Former President Donald Trump promised before his convention speech that he would not bring up Joe Biden. However, he couldn't resist saying the president's name - which he spoke aloud twice

Not only did Trump invoke Biden's name, he said it twice.

He later referred to Biden as 'person' and even more vaguely as the White House.

Despite breaking a promise, or two, depending on who's counting, Trump vowed to take two major policy actions on day one.

The most pressing action he would take is to invoke executive actions to stem the flow of migrants illegally crossing into the U.S.

He said - and government statistics show - that the flow of migrants crossing illegally has broken records, and now he's promising to fix it, similar to his 2016 promise to 'build that wall.'

'At the heart of the Republican platform is our pledge to end this border nightmare and fully restore the sacred and sovereign borders of the United States of America,' he told the adoring crowd of conservatives.

'And we're going to do that on day one,' he added, receiving a standing ovation.

But that was not his only day one promise.

'I will end the electric vehicle mandate on day one,' he said receiving another round of applause.

'Thereby saving the U.S. auto industry from complete obliteration, which is happening right now.'

'And saving U.S. customers thousands and thousands per car.'

He slammed the United Auto Workers union for their part in U.S. car manufacturing decline.

'They outta be ashamed .. and the leader of the United Auto Workers should be fired immediately.'

Trump also charged that the union was playing a part in China expanding car manufacturing capabilities to factories in Mexico - which he said was a plan to undercut U.S. auto makers.

'We're going to bring back car manufacturing and bring it back fast,' the former president said to a roar of support.
