As part of the longest speech in the history of American political conventions before a Presidential election, Donald Trump made a bold claim about the Green Bay Packers

The Republican National Convention was held in Milwaukee, with Wisconsin natives partial to the Packers.

Trump spent a long portion of his 92-minute speech thanking everyone who spoke at the convention and many people in the crowd.

When Trump began to thank the host city for the convention, he spotted people holding up cheese heads, a symbol worn by Green Bay fans at games.

'A very especial thank you to the extraordinary people of Milwaukee, and the great state of... there they are, there they are!,' Trump said when noticing the blocks of foam cheddar. 'You are so easy to spot!'

'Green Bay is gonna have a team this year, right?' Trump said, almost questioning himself. 'They're going to have a good team.'

Green Bay is projected to have a good 2024 after reaching the Divisional round of the playoffs last season after blowing out the Dallas Cowboys on the road in the Wild Card round.

Most of the Packers roster has stayed together since last season, with quarterback Jordan Love leading the way.

Green Bay's main speed bump to having a successful 2024 is its divisional opponents.

The Lions reached the NFC Championship game earlier this year, the Bears are revitalized with No 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, and the Vikings swapped out quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Trump has had a long history with the NFL, with many believing he has a personal hatred for the league because it has never let him own a team, despite several attempts.

At one time, Trump tried to buy the Colts, Patriots, Cowboys, and Bills.

Trump's latest vendetta with the NFL came in 2017, in the aftermath of Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem.

'Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, you'd say, "Get that son of a b***h off the field right now. Out! He's fired,"' Trump said.

Trump said that while as the sitting President, sparking plenty of player outrage and protest.
