Ryan Reynolds reveals cute nickname his kids have given Deadpool & Wolverine costar Hugh Jackman... after sharing name of 4th child with Blake Lively

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman share such a close bond that Ryan's kids affectionately call his best friend 'Uncle Hughey.' 

Ryan, 47, shared a heartwarming story about his four children's relationship with his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Hugh, humorously recounting how his four-year-old daughter Betty playfully 'attacked' the Australian actor backstage at the movie's NYC premiere.

'They’re all kind of in love with Uncle Hughey over here, so that worked out pretty well,' Ryan told Extra on Monday. 'He got attacked by Betty backstage, who thinks she has claws, so she goes at him. I have to actually give her a little tiny time-out.'

Hugh chimed in referring to his character Wolverine's superhero abilities, joking, 'She thinks I have healing powers, I think.' 

The hilarious anecdote comes after Ryan revealed the name of his and wife Blake Lively's youngest child.

During the movie's premiere, Ryan took to the stage to send love to the Hollywood power couple's four children: daughters James, 9, Inez, seven, and Betty and their fourth child, Olin. 

Ryan and Blake welcomed their fourth baby on February 12, 2023, but have not yet revealed the sex of their newest addition.

'I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here. I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here,' Ryan said on the stage at the premiere on Monday night, according to Variety. 

'I hope that, if I'm lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing - that is, the contents of this movie - that happens in your wondrous lives,' he added.

The stars never officially revealed she had given birth to their fourth child, and instead shared a snap of herself wearing fitted jeans and a top and no baby bump on February 12, 2023.

Blake hinted too in the caption that she had her baby by writing: 'Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023. Been busy,' she wrote. 

The name reveal also comes after Ryan opened up about his and Blake's plan to expand their family. 

He excitedly told E! News, 'The more the merrier. As many as possible. As many little heartbeats as possible, just running around, wrecking stuff in the house.'

Ryan then explained again how his youngsters have a very close relationship with Hugh, joking that they 'prefer' him.

'My kids prefer everything Hugh to me,' he quipped as The Greatest Showman actor chimed in, 'Mainly just as a parent.'

The father-of-four revealed that the 55-year-old actor's films are watched on repeat in his household.

'They watched The Greatest Showman more than the editor for The Greatest Showman,' Ryan said. 

'And sometimes I come home, and this guy’s actually acting it out with them and that’s kind of amazing,' he added of Jackman's relationship to their kids.

Blake and Ryan said 'I do' at the Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina in 2012 after meeting on set of Green Lantern in 2010.

They became parents for the first time in December 2014 with the birth of daughter, James. Ines was born two years later on September 30, 2016.
