A New Jersey couple have have had their Tesla's windshield smashed up by a fish that they claim fell from the sky, despite living a mile from the nearest body of water.
Cynthia and Jeff Levine from Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey said they heard a loud crashing sound outside of their home.
Speaking to ABC 7 Cynthia described how the car started honking. 'I went out and Jeff was in the yard somewhere. He heard the crash and everything, but ignored it'.
When they went to their driveway to investigate, they discovered their Tesla's windshield smashed up and covered in 'fish scales and blood', Cynthia said.
Jeff said he originally thought someone had thrown the fish at the car.

Cynthia and Jeff Levine shared security footage that shows a fish being dropped from the sky and crashing against their Tesla's windshield, which was parked in their driveway
The couple believe the fish was dropped by a bird carrying its dinner in its mouth
'Is somebody after us?', he wondered. 'We thought...is it vandals?'.
Security footage revealed a small fish suddenly falling out of the sky and crashing into their Tesla.
But the couple soon discovered who the culprit was, as they believe that the unexpected delivery came from a bird with dinner in its beak.
'We also have an eagle's nest in our backyard...We think it was probably the eagle', Cynthia said.
The Levines live around a mile from the closest body of water, which is Raritan Bay.
According to locals, it is common to see birds flying with fish in their mouth.

A similar incident occurred in North Carolina back in 2021, when an unlucky fish smashed into a truck's windshield after being dropped into fast-moving traffic by a bird.
The bass, which was plucked from a lake by a bird, was dropped directly into trucker Barry Poff's windshield, which resulted in it shattering.
Poff said that the encounter was unlike anything he had seen in his three million miles of driving across all 50 states.
'I pulled over and called my dispatcher,' Barr said. 'I told him, "You ain't gonna believe what just happened. A fish just shattered my windshield."'
Barry was unharmed but his truck did suffer some damage in the accident.
While the Levine's are in the process of getting their Tesla back through their insurance, Jeff had a message for his feathered neighbours.
'I lowered by deductibles, so if any birds are listening, please don't drop it here because I'm covered now', he joked.
