A baby girl was kidnapped from a hospital in Brazil just three hours after she was born by a woman who was posing as a doctor, according to police.
The unnamed woman duped the baby's parents into believing she was a medical professional who had come into their hospital room to feed the newborn.
Instead, she snatched the baby and stuffed it inside her yellow backpack, before rushing out of the facility in the middle of the night on Tuesday, authorities said.
On Wednesday morning, she was found, along with the newborn, in Itumbiara, Goiás - which is 83 miles from the medical facility in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais.
Uberlândia Civil Police chief Marcos Brandão said the baby is in good health.
Authorities in Brazil safely located a newborn girl on Wednesday morning who was kidnapped from a hospital on Tuesday. A woman (seen above) who appeared on surveillance cameras leaving the hospital with her was arrested
The baby girl was stolen from Uberlândia Federal University Hospital Clinic just three hours after she was delivered via cesarean section.
Authorities said that the suspect is also linked to the murder of a pharmacist in 2020
'She underwent tests and is fine. There is no sign of mistreatment,' Brandão said, as quoted by Brazilian news outlet G1.
Surveillance video showed the suspect stepping out of a red vehicle at 11:18 pm wearing a lab coat, cap, face mask, gloves and yellow backpack as she walked towards the clinic on Tuesday.
At 11:46 pm, the woman was spotted walking next to a hospital worker with the baby stuffed in the backpack.
Nine minutes passed before security cameras showed her walking towards the car with the baby in one of her hands before speeding away.
Father of the child Édson Ferreira told Brazilian news outlet G1 that the fake doctor visited their room, where his wife and his daughter were under observation following the 8pm delivery by cesarean section.
Along with the security guards, they were 'fooled' by the woman's behavior during the five minutes she spent in the room.
Police said the newborn is in good health and 'doing fine' after she was located Wednesday morning
Édson Ferreira - the father of the child - said the fake doctor told his wife that she was a 'pediatrician and that she was going to take the baby to feed her'

Surveillance cameras showed the moment a woman disguised as a doctor headed for the exit at Uberlândia Federal University Hospital Clinic with the newborn baby stuffed in her backpack
'She was very articulate. She came in and touched my wife's breasts to see if she had milk,' Ferreira recalled.
'She said she was a pediatrician and that she was going to take the baby to feed her.
'Minutes later, I saw that my little girl hadn't come back, and that's when we realized that she had been taken.'
The Military Police said the suspect placed the baby in the backpack and walked out of the hospital without being detected.
Uberlândia Federal University Hospital Clinic is investigating the incident.
Authorities told Brazilian news outlet G1 that the suspect is also being investigated for the November 2020 murder of Uberlândia pharmacist Renata Bocatto.
