Australian musician Firerose hit headlines today after shocking audio emerged of her ex-husband Bill Ray Cyrus berating and bullying her.
Cyrus, 62, is heard calling his 37-year-old then-wife a 'selfish f***ing b**ch' and a 'f***ing idiot' in the horrifying tapes obtained by DailyMail.com
The audio appears to back claims by Firerose that the 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer subjected her to 'extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse' during their seven-month marriage.
It comes just weeks after a judge granted a motion to freeze Firerose from using his credit cards following accusations of her making 'unauthorized charges.'
Here DailyMail.com explains who Firerose is and how she came to meet her ex-husband.
Firerose, 37, and Billy Ray Cyrus, 62 were in a seemingly happy relationship until Cyrus filed for divorce last May after seven months of marriage
Who is Firerose?
Firerose was born Johanna Rosie Scholem and grew up in suburban northern Sydney.
She is the eldest of three girls whose mother Debbie is a retired professional violinist and father Stephen is a retired general practitioner.
She attended Newtown's esteemed School for the Performing Arts in Australia, graduating in 2005 on the Distinguished Achievers List.
In 2006, she moved to Los Angeles and reinvented herself as a country singer. She recorded a duet with Cyrus titled New Day in 2021. Last year, she celebrated eight years of sobriety.
Firerose and Cyrus met over a decade ago on the studio lot of Hannah Montana - a popular Disney Channel series that starred him and his daughter, Miley Cyrus.
The Australian singer was there for an audition when Cyrus spotted her during a break from filming.
After thinking she was 'a star,' he introduced her to the cast and crew of the Disney Channel show.
The pair became good friends, and their bond grew stronger after the pair collaborated on a song together in 2021, while Cyrus was still married.
It's unclear when the singers first started dating, but Firerose seemingly confirmed their relationship in August 2022 and announced their engagement on Instagram in October that year.

'Billy looked at me and said, "Do you, do you wanna marry me?" And I was just like, "Of course I do. I love you,"' Firerose told People in 2022.
'He said, "I love you. I wanna make this official. I wanna be with you forever.'"
Firerose and Cyrus said 'I do' in October 2023, which the Hannah Montana alum called a 'beautiful, joyous day' in an Instagram post

'It was the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love we have ever imagined,' he wrote.
'For both of us to hear the preacher say, "Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus, I now pronounce you husband and wife" that was the sacred moment our new forever began.'
Despite their messy split, neither singer has deleted their wedding photos off social media, and she is still Firerose Cyrus on Instagram.
Cyrus initiated the divorce proceedings last May, and Firerose clapped back with a counter complaint last June
Both singers have made accusations against one another that involve fraud, abuse, and retaliation for a double mastectomy after Cyrus filed for divorce last May.
Cyrus initiated the divorce proceedings and asked for a temporary restraining order against her shortly afterward.
However, Firerose clapped back with a counter complaint in June and claimed Cyrus was 'unpredictable and volatile' due to alleged substance abuse issues.
The Australian singer later revealed that Cyrus filed for divorce just 24 hours before she was reportedly going to have a preventative double mastectomy.
She also claimed that Cyrus' brother and sister-in-law 'banged on her bedroom door for three-and-a-half hours,' and demanded she leave the house.
Cyrus confirmed that he was the man giving the aggressive rant toward Firerose in audio obtained by DailyMail.com
Firehouse has not commented on the aggressive audio since its July 24 release, but Cyrus responded to the incident early this afternoon and confirmed he was the ranting man.
'Hell yeah I was at my wit's end. As every day went by, I started realizing something was wrong. And that's before I knew she was a fraud,' he wrote in an Instagram Story.
'I just knew something wasn't right. That was before I knew she was David Hodge's ex-wife. That's before I knew her parents last name. I had no idea she was arrested for felony residential burglary.'
He then claimed that Firerose was trying to take over his career and that his 'life and usurp the Cyrus name for own gain.'
