The influencer Nara Smith, who has long weathered accusations that she's a 'trad wife,' has shut down the rumors in her signature, gentle-voiced manner.
Nara, 22, started off as a fashion model and grew her social media following into the millions with visually alluring content in which she makes a variety of foodstuffs and even medicinal products from scratch - from breakfast cereals and popsicles to cough drops and sunscreen.
She's never self-identified as a 'trad wife' - meaning women who fetishize postwar gender roles, often found on social media performatively glamorizing domestic duties.
Still, appearing in chic outfits with perfect makeup and hair despite getting her hands dirty in the kitchen for the benefit of her husband and/or kids, Nara certainly seemed to be aligned with the trad-wife ideology.
Nara Smith, 22, is known for her ethereal cooking videos that many have interpreted as being aligned with the trad-wife ideology
While she's never self-identified as a 'trad wife,' the manner in which Nara has tended to glorify domesticity on social media has raised many eyebrows
She's been married to model Lucky Blue Smith, 26, since 2020, and the pair share three kids: Rumble Honey, three, Slim Easy, two, and three-month-old Whimsy Lou.
Comments on her posts tend to range from genuine awe to concern, even veering into suspicion and accusations that she supports the general idea of wives acting as unpaid servants to their husbands and kids.
But, from Nara's point of view, that just simply isn't the case.
'I wasn't aware that finding joy in cooking for my husband and kids would automatically mean that I just slave away in the kitchen,' she began in a voiceover of a new video while pictured getting out of bed.
'"I don't have a job, and I have a whole production team at my house making that happen." To clarify, none of that is true,' she asserted.
'I'm a working mom, juggling all kinds of hats and responsibilities,' she went on.
Batting back rumors that she only cooks for her husband and kids, Nara also brought up personal health reasons for why she's devoted to making everything from scratch.
'Cooking has always been a massive part of my life, especially after I got diagnosed with lupus and my eczema started flaring up again,' she explained.
In a new video, Nara shot back that she's a 'working mom' who is 'juggling all kinds of hats and responsibilities'
Later in the video, she enjoys breakfast with her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, 26, while they 'caught up on things that we couldn't talk about the day before'
After Nara got ready herself, she got her kids dressed and combed their hair
'I knew that I had to change the way that I eat, and the way that I went about life.'
From there, the video chronicled her day as she prepared to travel to New York City with Whimsy Lou for the 'ninth shoot' since her birth in April.
Nara then 'made the kids some breakfast while they colored and rode their scooters around the house,' before she had breakfast with Lucky and 'caught up on things that we couldn't talk about the day before.'
She then got ready herself, putting on makeup and a simple outfit, then getting the kids dressed with their hair combed.
Then, with an hour until her car for the airport was due to arrive, she decided to make a grocery run so Lucky would have 'essential's when he was home alone,' and even planned his meals for the next few days.
'At this point, I realized that I only had an hour until my car was coming to pick me up.
'Lucky never lets me pack my own bags so he did that for me and we said goodbye before I was on my way to the airport,' she added.

Nara also addressed the issue of her apparent domestic role in an an older post.
Summarizing what her husband 'eats in a day' - all of which she cooks for him - she clarified: 'Cooking is my love language. So this is not something that's expected of me, this is just something that I love doing.'
