A mom has revealed a controversial trick to get a free treat for your little one at Starbucks - although not everyone was on board with her cheeky freebie.
Mom Lauryn Clare shared her hack in a now-viral Instagram reel which showed two-year-old daughter Adeline licking some whipped cream out of a small takeaway cup.
'If you can't afford Starbucks for two, order your toddler a pup cup. It's free and will make them just as happy as a $5 cake pop,' Lauryn, 34, captioned the clip.
A pup cup is an espresso-sized cup containing a dollop of whipped cream, which can be ordered free by Starbucks customers to give to their dogs.
The Philadelphia-based-mom said she normally doesn't indulge in a Starbucks because it's 'expensive,' but had some money left on a gift card.

The mom said she was in the car ordering her drink when her daughter woke up from a nap, and knew she would want something.
'I knew Addie was going to want something. So I asked, "Do you guys charge for pup cups? And the woman taking my order was like, "Oh, my God, no. What's your dog's name?"' she told Today.
Lauryn explained the barista serving her knew the pup cup wasn't for a canine, but didn't care.
'She was totally fine with it,' Lauryn said.
While the money-saving mom was happy with her trick, she received backlash from commenters online, who slammed her for taking advantage of the off-menu item.
'They once told me it was only for dogs!!!' one user shared.
'That's finessing the system. She's not a pup,' another criticized.
But, nonetheless, other moms shared their own tricks to keeping their kids happy at cafes.
'My daughter thinks coffee shops sell fruit snacks because I give her a pack from my purse when I'm handed my drink. What they don't know won't hurt,' another mom shared.

'In this economy? We're both getting pup cups,' laughed another.
Another comment was from someone claiming to be a barista at Starbucks, saying they 'don't care' if the pup cup is for canine or human.
'I know our prices, they're real expensive, and getting your kid a treat that will make them happy shouldn't be such a controversial thing,' they wrote. 'I guarantee you it's not a nuisance because it's for a kid instead of a dog.
'Baristas really don't care as long as the person asking is polite, and speaking for myself, my day is made by seeing anyone happy (dog or human) with what I'm giving them,' they said.
Lauryn hit back at naysayers in the comments, saying they were missing the point of her post.
'I can afford a cake pop people. But if she's happy AF with a cup of whipped cream? For free? Helloooooo,' Lauryn hit back.
A spokesperson from Starbucks told the Dailymail.com all customers can order a side of whipped cream with the purchase of a beverage at no extra charge.
'We love seeing the different ways our customers brighten loved ones' days with Starbucks.
'All customers can order a side of whipped cream with the purchase of a beverage at no extra charge, and we've seen customers order this for their dogs. We recommend that pet owners consult with their vet,' they said.
