Netflix fans have gone wild following the release of an 'outstanding' new series 

The show dropped on the streaming platform on July 12 and has been praised heartily by viewers, who referred to it as a 'fever dream'. 

Its immense popularity since being released has been emphasised by fans saying they will 'cry' if the show is not renewed for another season. 

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, users were share how enjoyable they found the show to watch, as they enthused: 'The plot feels like a fever dream but it looks fun'. 

'So nice for Netflix to actually put effort and advertising into animation'.

The card game which served as the inspiration for the show began on Kickstarter in 2015 as its creators attempted to source $10,000 (£7,735) worth of crowdfunding. 

The campaigners reached their target in a staggering eight minutes, with 103,000 people going on to support the project - which is a record for a Kickstarter campaign that still stands to this day. 

Further positive feedback from the new show's watchers read: 'I watched the first season of Exploding Kittens on Netflix, and I think it's great. It's fun as hell and has some truly hilarious moments. Plus, it's oddly kinda [sic] sweet'.
