Drew Barrymore's interview techniques have once again raised eyebrows after her chat with Austin Butler resurfaced - with uncomfortable viewers declaring her style 'invasive.'
The talk show host, 49, invited the Hollywood actor and his Masters of the Air costar, Callum Turner, on her program back in February, where they shared the advice they received from George Clooney.
During the interview, Drew sat close to Austin as she revealed that George had once encouraged her to maintain eye contact while shooting a scene – despite her finding it 'intimate.'
After a clip from their chat was posted on Drew's social media pages over the weekend, viewers couldn't help but notice the host's physical closeness to Austin, with one going as far as claiming she was 'frightening' him.
Critiquing her form, one asked: 'Why is she always sitting on the guests?'

The host, 49, was accused of 'always sitting on her guests' after the February interview was posted onto the show's official social media over the weekend
Another said: 'Invasive?? This from a woman who practically dry humps her guests??'
A third wrote: 'I am still trying to figure out if I like her as a host. She tries too hard to connect and she doesn't….'
'She is so cringe,' a fourth said. 'She is literally frightening this guy.'
A fifth added: 'Talking about invasive and she's damn near straddling him.'
During their chat, Drew had recalled her time being directed by George on Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind (2002), his directorial debut.
She revealed how she 'loved working with him' and that 'he saved me from doing things that I don't think were serving me as an actor.'
Drew said: 'He would say, "You never keep eye contact with people in a scene,'' which prompted her to clarify her reasoning for avoiding the eyes.
'I'm like, "Well, because it's so intimate. Should we make out while we're at it?" Like, eye contact is insane.'

Viewers couldn't help but critique Drew's form on social media, with some describing her as 'cringe'
'See, now I'm feeling the pressure to not take my eyes off of you right now,' Callum commented while gesturing with his hands towards her eyes.
'It's a very big deal in life, eye contact,' Drew shot back.
'I almost feel like it's a little invasive and so I sort of shy away from it but George helped me realize that I should not do that.'
Despite criticism from viewers, Austin appeared laid back and comfortable during the interview.
Kamala Harris joined actress Drew on her daytime talk show in April, where the two sat unusually close together on the large couch
Throughout his appearance, he kept a cool demeanor and rested his right arm on the back of the sofa towards Drew while using his other arm to pet her dog.
Drew's interview style has long been subjected to criticism.
In April, she came under fire after a bizarre interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, in which she urged her to be 'Momala of the country.'
During the sit-down, the two were also situated unusually close together on the large couch.
At one point, Drew leaned forward and held Harris's hands while the audience applauded.
