Simone Biles' husband Jonathan Owens was every bit the doting husband on Tuesday as he watched the gymnast win her eighth Olympic medal - with a touching detail noticed by fans.
In a clip shared to social media, NFL star Owens - who donned a white shirt with Biles emblazoned in huge, red writing - was seen furiously scribbling her stats on a piece of paper as he intently watched Team USA.
The Chicago Bears player, 29, took a break from training camp to support Biles, 27, at the Olympics, and was seen in the crowd sitting with Biles' parents Nellie and Ronald as they watched the final.
'#Bears DB Jonathan Owens has gone viral for being a "supportive husband" to Simone Biles, as he was taking notes of her stats at the Olympics,' ML Football wrote alongside the clip.
While many people applauded him for being in Paris for his wife, others were quick to refer back to a controversial comment he made on a podcast in December 2023, joking he was trying to make up for it.

Biles wowed on all three events - floor, beam, and vault - during the final, and helped secure the team's epic gold medal win as Team USA earned an impressive winning score of 171.296.
Last year, Owens publicly got himself in hot water when the couple appeared on the Pivot podcast, after he not only admitted that he 'didn't know who [Biles] was' when the couple started dating but also claimed that he was the 'catch' in their marriage.
'Bro got so much hate now he's trying to be the good guy,' one user joked.
'Dude showing out for the camera, he was just drawing stick figures,' added another.
'Lol he's still trying to figure out what she does,' chimed in another.
Owens admitted that Biles, who is a huge mental health advocate, helped him realize when he was over thinking certain aspects of his game, which is known as 'paralysis by analysis.'
He said Biles mentioned he was looking a 'little slow' when he was watching footage from training camp, which spurred him to see a sports psychologist.
'Any other woman other than her I have been like, man what are you talking about, you know?' he explained in the podcast.

Some people cheekily suggested Owens was making up for remarks he made in 2023 about being 'the catch' in his marriage to Biles

'But it did make me you know had to work on myself you know, because I did realize I was confident but it was almost like pretend confidence, in my mind I still hadn't proved myself enough,' he added.
Last year, Biles admitted on Peacock's 2023 Back That Year Up that she and her pro-athlete husband have argued about who is the better athlete is.
'I think we're good at our own sports,' Biles carefully answered. 'We've tried to pin each other against [one another] on, like, difficulty, ability and all that stuff. So, at the end of the day, gymnastics is harder — if he agrees or not.'
When pushed about it, Biles admitted they had fought over it in the past but vowed once they were married to not talk about it again.
'But it keeps coming up every time, but he has done my workout in the gym and he can barely do it, and then I went to their NFL workout and I crushed it,' she said.
Sports stars like Michael Phelps, Serena Williams, and Jason Kelce, who was joined by his wife, Kylie Kelce, were in the audience to support Team USA on Tuesday, as well as Hollywood A-listers like Spike Lee, Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, and Bill Gates.

Before the finals kicked off, Biles took a moment to clap back at trolls who branded her hair a 'hot mess' during the qualifier.
After the event, X, formerly Twitter, was flooded with unkind posts about the way that her hair were styled.
One person said the Olympic gold medalist looked like she 'just rolled out of bed,' while another tweeted that her hairstyle was 'sloppy' - but the world-class gymnast had a fierce message for her haters.
In a post shared to her Instagram on Tuesday morning, the star warned, 'Don't come for me about my hair.'
Biles explained that while she had her hair 'done' before the event, she had to take a 45-minute bus ride in the extreme heat with no air-conditioning.
'It was done but bus has no AC and it's like 9,000 degrees,' the gymnast explained, as she shared a video of herself sitting on the bus and holding a portable fan up to her face. 'Oh and it's a 45-minute ride.'
In a second post, the athlete added, 'Gonna hold your hand when I say this. Next time you wanna comment on a black girl's hair, just don't.'
Owens missed the qualifier due to training camp, but took a break from his NFL duties to attend the final.
He took to Instagram early on Tuesday morning to confirm he was on his way, sharing a snap of a plane window, which he captioned, 'Coming for you baby.'
The pair started dating in 2020 after he messaged her on Instagram. They tied the knot in April 2023 in Houston before heading to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for a lavish celebration.
