An American woman has shared how to go for gold on dating apps - even from thousands of miles away.
TikTok user Sofia Elizabeth, 22, had her sights set on matching with an elite athlete and through some patience and careful swiping, successfully matched with an Olympian.
Sofia, who shared her findings in a video that has now been viewed over 16 million times, admitted it was trial and error before she finally cracked the code.
'At first, I wasn't seeing any Olympians so I decided to get busy swiping,' Sofia explained.
The content creator said that she then matched with a man and 'instantly kicked it off.'

After figuring out the Olympic village was five miles north of Paris, Sofia narrowed down where exactly she wanted to set her neighborhood location to on the app and started swiping
'I mean we had to, I had to do this for my future children,' she said emphatically. 'These future Olympians aren't going to come from nothing.'
Although Sofia didn't name which athlete she matched with, she shared he was an athlete who 'didn't just shine' but won 'the first gold medal for the United States of America.'
'That's my match, baby, that's my match,' she jokingly cheered. 'I look better in gold anyways.'
Sofia later gave a tutorial on how to orchestrate an Olympian match up in a follow up clip.
'To match with an athlete you gotta train like an athlete,' she quipped.
The first step, she said, is to download Hinge - as you don't have to pay to change your location on it.
'Olympians are kind of like vegans,' she joked. 'You don't have to ask, they will tell you.'
Sofia said to look out for signs of playing sport on their profile, or even looking for something more obvious, using someone who wrote: 'Paris!! Olympics 2024 here I come' after the Hinge prompt 'Give me travel tips for' as an example.

Sofia's comments were filled with eager users, excited to start hunting for their own Olympic beau
After figuring out the Olympic village was five miles north of Paris, Sofia narrowed down where exactly she wanted to set her neighborhood location to on the app and started swiping - however, she says this part is not for the weak.
'You do kind of have to be hardcore in this if you truly want an Olympian,' she told viewers.
'I feel like the algorithm eventually picks up that you only want Olympians after saying no to everyone else,' she shared.
While Sofia acknowledged she could hit a snag if they want to meet up, not all is lost.
'If all goes well flights to Paris are really cheap,' she reasoned. 'So you can be with your match and see their cardboard beds in person.'
Sofia's comments were filled with eager users, excited to start hunting for their Olympic beau.
'GIRL!! I'm here just to say thank you. The FIRST GUY to show up when I changed my location was an athlete, not to mention French guys are just so cute,' one commented.
'This is the only level of delusion and manifestation I need in my life from everyone around me. YOU SLAYED QUEEN!' one user praised.
'This is amazing, hope it works out!! (for your future Olympian babies of course),' added another.
