Fox News' Jesse Watters claimed American women who vote for Kamala Harris have 'mommy issues' and joked that men who vote for a woman will actually turn into women.
Watters, 46, expressed shock that Americans would consider voting for the presumptive Democratic nominee simply because she's female.
'Vote for a woman just because she's a woman?' he asked on his show, The Five, a Fox News opinion roundtable, on Tuesday. 'It's either childish or that person has mommy issues or they're just trying to be accepted by other women.'
The Fox News star then went on to make a joke about what happens to men when they vote for women.
'I heard that scientists said the other day that when a man votes for a woman, he actually transitions into a woman,' he said.
His female co-hosts appeared to appreciate the gag, with Dana Perino sarcastically saying: 'Oh, is that right? That's what the scientists say?'
Jesse Watters make a bizarre claim he claimed is back by scientists that men who vote for women 'actually transitions into a woman'
'Yeah, that's what the scientists say,' Watters said.
The Primetime host also said he doesn't understand why any man would vote for a liberal as they doesn't represent men's values.
'I don't see why any man would vote Democrat. It's not the party of virtue, security, it's not the party of strength, it's definitely not the party of family,' he said, to which co-host Jessica Tarlov replied with a shocked: 'What?'
Tarlov later told viewers everything Watters said was false, stating: 'So first of all, everything Jesse said was wrong. I just want that on the record there.'
He responded: 'What? Name one thing!'
A Fox spokesperson told DailyMail.com in a statement: 'Anyone who watched the full segment can obviously tell that he was joking, which was also made clear later in the discussion.'
The subject of 'family values' has been brought up a number of times recently after Donald Trump's running mate Senator JD Vance's 'childless cat ladies' comment resurfaced.
He claimed in 2021 that childless women were 'miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.'
He specifically name-dropped Vice President Kamala Harris, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Watters, 46, expressed immense shock that some American women would even consider voting for Kamala Harris because she's a woman, saying those women have 'mommy issues.'
The Primetime host also said he doesn't understand why any man would vote liberal as it doesn't represent men's values. 'I don't see why any man would vote Democrat . It's not the party of virtue, security, it's not the party of strength, it's definitely not the party of family,' Watters said
'The entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children,' Vance said. 'How does it make any sense we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?'
Although Harris and Buttigieg do not have any biological children of their own, Harris is a stepmother to Ella and Cole Emhoff and Buttigieg is a father of adopted twins.
Ella recently defended her 'Momala' - a nickname for the current VP - after Vance's comments resurfaced.
'How can you be "childless" when you have cutie pie kids like Cole and I,' she wrote on an Instagram story. 'I love my three parents.'
Watters claims come after a new poll shows Harris pulling ahead of the former president in several swing states.
A Fox News spokesman told DailyMail.com of the segment: 'Anyone who watched the full segment can obviously tell that he was joking which was also made clear later in the discussion.'
There has been a major shift since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, according to the latest Bloomberg News/Morning Consult survey.
Overall, the race is a toss-up, but the poll shows Harris leaning slightly ahead of Trump in the seven swing states at 48 percent to his 47 percent. That reverses the two-point lead Trump had in the swing states before Biden exited the race.
Harris is now ahead in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin.

The polling shows Harris with a whopping 11-point lead over Trump in the crucial state of Michigan. She also has a two-point lead in Arizona, Nevada and Wisconsin.
The race between Harris and Trump is now tied in Georgia. On Tuesday, the vice president received a huge welcome when more than 10,000 people showed up to her first rally as the presumptive presidential nominee in Atlanta.
The poll shows Trump with a two-point lead in North Carolina, a state he won in 2020 as well as a four-point lead in Pennsylvania.
Harris appears to be getting a boost in battleground states from a jump in enthusiasm in the presidential race among voters.
