The View's Ana Navarro got rather candid about her five-year marriage to Al Cárdenas on Friday's episode when she made an X-rated joked about their sex life.

During the latest instalment of the ABC show, Ana, 52, and the rest of the panel invited co-founders of Womaness, Sally Mueller and Michelle Jacobs, to the table to discuss all things menopause, and months after hinting that she and Al had turned to 'medication' to help, she decided to get personal again.

Joking about her own experience as she's gotten older, Ana said: 'There's all sorts of emotional symptoms too. The one silver lining is when I have a particularly b****y day, I can now blame it on menopause!' before going on to talk about intimacy.

'Let's talk about sex, or as my husband would say, "Not enough of it," because there's this feeling that once women can no longer have babies they aren't sexual at all, and don't have needs or desires, and we all know that's not true. How do you respond to what happens in menopause with sex?'

Sally replied: 'Well, we need to start shattering that perception and that taboo because women do want to have sex...,' before Joy Behar butted in and joked: 'With their husbands?' as the rest of the panel burst out laughing.

Sunny Hostin was keen to talk about her own experience with menopause and asked the experts: 'Is it normal to still get your period in your 50s?' as Michelle replied: 'Yes, you're looking at that person!'

Confirming that she's still getting her period, Sunny, 55, blurted back: 'You're looking at that person! But I thought that in your 50s you should... be in menopause?' as Sally revealed: 'The average age of menopause is 51.'

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who turned 35 in June, then joked: 'If Sunny gets pregnant before me I'm going to be so annoyed!' as the panel erupted into laughter again.

As the conversation continued, Joy, 81, spoke up again and said: 'I don't know if you mentioned libido, but that goes south also...,' but Ana was quick to butt in and said: 'What do you mean?! I just talked about not wanting to have sex! And you made a great joke!'

'Oh yeah, I did, I'm sorry,' the comedian replied as Ana commented: 'There's memory issues with menopause too!' as the experts confirmed: 'Yeah, brain fog.'

'I wasn't paying attention, but you're right,' Joy admitted, as Sara Haines joked: 'Joy only wants to ever talk about sex, so...,' as the redhead added: 'This is our last show for the season, I've had enough!'

It's not the first time the panel have discussed menopause live on air, and earlier this year, Ana hinted that she and Al have turned to 'medication' to keep the passion alive in their marriage.

During a frank discussion about a man who wrote into a newspaper's advice column and revealed he hadn't had sex with his wife in 10 years, 52-year-old Ana decided to share her own experience live on air.

When her co-host Whoopi Goldberg suggested that the man's wife might be going through the menopause, Ana was quick to insist that the condition did not have to mean the end of intimacy.

'Listen, as somebody who is in the middle of menopause, there's all sorts of medication and things you can do,' she said.

She then added: 'And I think that instead of writing into whatever advice column, they need to go see a sex therapist or a marriage counselor!' before Whoopi fired back: 'Or maybe it's just done!'

'Sometimes it's just over! Sometimes it's just finished, and if she hasn't initiated anything in 10 years, dude, it's time to go!' the Sister Act star went on as Alyssa giggled off camera.

'It ain't gonna get better!' Ana then claimed, as Whoopi corrected her and blurted out: 'No, no it might, but don't count on it!'
