A crafty mom has revealed how she makes popsicles out of her oversupply of breast milk for her family to enjoy, with even her husband giving it a try.
Since giving birth to her second son, Leah Vidaurre, from Parma Heights, Ohio, has been left with the problem of over-producing breast milk and not knowing what to do with it.
The 36-year-old mom produces 60 ounces, or about 7.5 cups, daily - but her infant son only drinks around half that.
So, she decided to put the extra to good use by making fruit-flavored snacks to dish out to her family.
'I believe I created an oversupply by pumping every three hours as soon as my son was born,' she said.
Leah Vidaurre, 36, of Parma Heights, Ohio, has gotten creative when it comes to re-purposing the breast milk her infant son doesn't get through in a day
She produces about 7.5 cups of breast milk per day, but her baby only consumes about half of that amount
'Doing this signaled to my body that I needed more milk, so I started to produce more,' she further speculated.
Of the popsicles, she added: 'I'll only stop making them when my kids stop eating them!'
Leah elaborated about ho, after she gave birth to her second son, she began over-producing breast milk.
Not wanting the leftover milk to go to waste, she decided to start trying out different ways of using it, including turning it into smoothies and even making milk soap.
After a lot of experimenting, she found that fruit-flavored milk popsicles made for the best-tasting treat.
And she now dishes them out to her kids - and even her husband - to make sure none of the breast milk goes to waste.
Two cups of milk make up to four popsicles, she shared.
The mom views it as a creative way to make sure her children are getting all the extra benefits from breast milk, such as vitamins and calcium, while getting a sweet treat at the same time.
Not wanting the extra breast milk - which she calls 'liquid gold' - to go to waste, Leah began experimenting with other uses for it
One of the best uses she's found for the extra breast milk is to blend it with fruit and freeze it, creating fruit-flavored popsicles

'If you have an oversupply like I do, it's fun to experiment with other ways to use [my breast milk],' Leah said
People online have mostly supported Leah's creativity, but she explained that some have left mocking comments, such as leaving baby noises and immature jokes.
'I think that the comments are made by very immature people that have no idea what it is like to raise or have children,' she said.
'Breast milk is called liquid gold for a reason. It has so many benefits. If you have an oversupply like I do, it's fun to experiment with other ways to use it.
'My husband has tried it, he says the milk is sweet.
'And I have tried my breast milk, I was very curious about how it tasted.
'I have made many things with milk.
'Sometimes I put milk in smoothies for my toddler, and make purees for my baby when starting solids.'
Leah said she had also tried making butter out of her milk, but had been unsuccessful. However has had more luck with soap.
'I also use it in milk baths if my children have diaper rash,' she added.
