Soccer star Carlos Salcedo's mom is accused of murdering man in bitter family inheritance feud that saw her daughter killed

The mother of star Mexican soccer player Carlos Salcedo is wanted in connection for the murder of man, who was allegedly shot dead over an inheritance in 2023.

A judge in the western state of Jalisco issued the arrest warrant for María Hernández on January 30, Mexican news outlets revealed last Friday.

Hernández and her daughter, Martha Salcedo, who was shot dead outside a circus in Huixquilucan, State of Mexico on June 29, reportedly orchestrated the killing of José Felix 'N' on March 7, 2023.

A prosecution witness said that Martha Salcedo approached José Felix just two days before he was gunned down and that she told him it would be 'the last time I tell you to give back what is not yours. It belongs to my mother and mine.'

When José Felix challenged Martha Salcedo to take action on the spot, Paola Salcedo responded, 'I'm not going to do anything to you, but rest assured that I will tell my boyfriend to kill you if you don't return what belongs to my family and not yours.'

María Hernández issued a pre-recorded statement on her social media networks on Monday morning, indicating it was the first time she had known of such accusations and disputed the prosecution's claims.

'They issued the arrest warrant without notifying us, without having submitted any documents,' Hernández said. 'And in my case, no arrest warrant was issued, nor any document, nor were the perpetrators named. Strangely, an arrest warrant appeared after I asked for justice for my daughter.'

Hernández said there was no way her daughter directly threatened José Felix with murder because was caring for her following an operation.

'Totally false, because on March 3rd I had surgery and when I was discharged, my daughter was with me for the entire convalescence period, my daughter was with me for more than 10 days,' Hernández said. 'I don't know how my daughter could have been in two places.'

Andrea Navarro was also shockingly accused by her mother-in-law María Hernández of plotting the murder of Mexican tv presenter and public relations specialist, Martha  Salcedo, 

She also shot down allegations that she and her daughter were after José Felix's inheritance.

'I am a retired, pensioned person. My daughter was a financially solvent person and in reality we are not even close relatives to claim an inheritance,' she said, while adding the only people she knew who were involved in a dispute over an inheritance related to the custody of their mother and her sister were her husband and his siblings and that they kept their distance from the legal proceedings.

The shocking allegations come as Hernández is seeking justice for Martha Salcedo's cold-blooded murder.

On July 6, Hernández accused Carlos Salcedo and his second wife, Andrea Navarro, of carrying out the killing.

Carlos Salcedo had asked Liga MX club Cruz Azul to release of his contract and allow him to sign with a team outside Mexico.

'The real reason why Carlos Salcedo wants to leave the country is because he and his wife Andrea Navarro are the masterminds behind the murder of Paola (Martha),' Maria said, referencing her daughter.

The shocking allegations were made just hours after two suspects, including the shooter, had been arrested. 

Carlos Salcedo was interviewed by the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office on July 18 as part of the investigation. 

The defender, who has 47 caps with the Mexican national team, signed a three-year deal this weekend with the FC Juarez, which plays its home games in the northern border town of Ciudad Juárez, across from El Paso, Texas. He last played for the Liga MX club during the 2022-23 season.
