Harrison Butker is set to become the highest-paid kicker in NFL history, as the Chiefs have inked the 29-year-old to a new $25million deal.

Butker has signed a four-year, $25.6million contract that includes $17.8million in guaranteed money.

Butker's new deal comes three months after he made headlines for a controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College in Kansas

The Chiefs long-term kicker urged men to 'fight against cultural emasculation' and claimed women are destined to be 'homemakers.'

Butker's speech was full of his conservative views, not only on gender roles, but on abortion and vaccines as well.

'To the gentlemen here today, part of what plagues society is this lie that has been told to you that men are not necessary in the home or in our communities,' Butker said as part of the May speech.

'As men, we set the tone of the culture, and when that is absent, disorder, dysfunction and chaos set in,' Butker continued. 'This absence of men in the home is what plays a large role in the violence we see all around the nation.'

The three-time Super Bowl champion has become more vocal in recent years with his personal beliefs.

His beliefs included wearing a tie to the Chiefs' Super Bowl celebration at the White House last year with a pro-life Latin phrase on it. Butker's views are in opposition with President Joe Biden's pro-choice policies.

Butker has been the Chiefs starting kicker since 2017 and converted the game-winning field goal in last year's Super Bowl against the Eagles.

The previous record for the highest-paid kickers belonged to Baltimore's Justin Tucker and Philadelphia's Jake Elliott, who both are making $6million per season.
