Residents on a Houston street say they are being terrorized by a neighbor from hell who abuses them 'for no apparent reason'.

Locals at Fondren Place Townhomes are living in fear of Daniel Atnafu, 38, who is facing criminal mischief charges.

Atnafu has been accused of slashing his neighbor's tires and even intimidating a USPS worker so badly that mail was not delivered on the street for two weeks.

Police have been called out to the at least eight times in the last six months, so far resulting in two separate charges.

Local man Leon Butler Jr. told ABC13 he is worried that the situation could escalate.

'I am not afraid, but I know how to protect myself,' Butler said. 'I (have) to tell people, "Just stay out the way if you can."

'He threatened the mail carrier - that's why we just started getting our mail, but for two weeks, we couldn't get it,' Butler said. 'We had to go pick it up.'

A video taken on July 23 allegedly shows Atnafu confronting the postal worker and yanking on the door of his vehicle.

Court documents show he was  charged with criminal mischief for 'jumping on the motor vehicle with his feet' and causing damage.

Additional filings show he was hit with a second charge for allegedly slashing a neighbor's tire.

Another clip shows him angrily confronting a community courtesy patrol officer who is paid to park up on the street and watch over residents.

'You're going to park by my house?' Atnafu barks at the guard. 'How long have you been parked by my house? Do you have any guests here?'

The apartment block's owners said she has approached the police on numerous occasions but has been told that all residents can do is call 911 to report any incidents.

Locals have been left stumped by Atnafu's alleged behavior. A note pinned to his door states that trespassers 'will be dealt with'.

Atnafu's Linkedin states he is a Corporate Communications Specialist who attended Houston University.

His current job is listed as an installation technician for Digital Pro Audio and Video.

It is not yet clear if Atnafu has entered a plea. DailyMail.com has approached him for comment.
