Canadian pole vault star Alysha Newman's OnlyFans earnings have been revealed, with the Olympian also opening up on how she uses the platform to supplement her income.

The Olympian has gone viral on social media in recent days after she was spotted celebrating winning a bronze medal in Paris by twerking towards the crowd inside the Stade de France.

The 30-year-old star delivered an exceptional performance on Tuesday to clear 4.85m to take third in the women's pole vault finals.

While Australia's Nina Kennedy, who took gold, and the USA's Katie Moon, who won silver, would both surpass her in the final standings, Newman's vault saw her become the first Canadian woman to win a medal in the event in the history of the Olympic Games.

Newman, who hails from Ontario, Canada, is one of several athletes who are using OnlyFans at the Games to make extra cash. Team GB diver Jack Laughter, opened up on his decision to use OnlyFans, claiming: 'I'll do anything to hustle some more money.'

Newman, meanwhile, has also opened up on using the platform during an interview with German outlet BILD and stated that it gives her greater confidence.

'I earn money with what I post - you have to log in to find out. It makes me confident and I feel good about it,' she told the German news outlet.

BILD have also given an estimation of how much she earns from the platform. While they say it is not possible to see how many subscribers she has, the outlet states that more than 65,000 users have liked her profile.

They add that a monthly subscription to her page costs £10.23 ($12.99USD) while access to her site has dropped £5.63 ($7.14USD) during the Olympics, with Newman receiving several thousand likes during that period.

OnlyFans creators have said that they keep around 20 percent of the money they make on the site.

'Of course, many people have a certain cliché when they think of OnlyFans. I can't change many people's minds,' Newman added, speaking more on her side hustle.

'But this website has connected me with many fans, more than any other pole vaulter before.

'What others think about it doesn't bother me. I am who I am and I do it well.'

Opening up more on what she posts on her OnlyFans account, the Canadian said: 'I post a lot of my training sessions, talk about nutrition and lots of tips and tricks.'

Newman had begun her sporting journey as a gymnast. But she was forced to abandon the sport at a young age after suffering an injury to her spine.

She would subsequently return to play sports after a year on the sidelines, trying ice hockey before getting into track and field events.

Newman would subsequently go on to claim a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games before clinching gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Speaking on her bronze medal victory at the Olympics, the Canadian said to TSN: 'I'm so excited.'

'I laugh because getting third is, I mean I've never got third, but it's funny because you have to still wait and sit there and wait until the other girls are done.

'So I'm so awkwardly standing there like, "What do I do? Do I celebrate? Do I kiss everyone? Do I cry?"

Newman had finished her attempts at the same height as Moon but missed out on clinching a silver medal after missing one more attempt compared to the American.

'It was a really surreal moment and it was awesome. I just feel like I'm very emotionally stable right now and just feel so honoured to be the first (women's) pole vaulter to bring home an Olympic medal for Canada.'
