Throughout her political career, Vice President Kamala Harris has taken time during speeches and public events to define events or issues that most people are already familiar with.

It's a strange phenomenon that's now following Harris as she hits the 2024 presidential campaign trail in the place of Joe Biden, who spectacularly dropped out of the race last month.

Harris has a unique style of dumbing down her answers to the point they become more confusing to the general public and often throwing in an awkward laugh.

Other times, Harris skirts a question by defining the topic under discussion in plain terms but offering no clear answer, leaving audiences and hosts bewildered.

And she does it in her signature 'word salad' style that often convolutes her answers even more.

DailyMail.com breaks down the most cringeworthy explanations given by the presidential hopeful over the years:

In November 2021, Harris was asked about what the Biden-Harris administration would do to fight inflation.

'Let's start with this,' Harris replied. 'Prices have gone up, and families and individuals are dealing with the realities of — that bread costs more, that gas costs more.'

She continued, 'and we have to understand what that means. That's about the cost of living going up. That's about having to stress and stretch limited resources.'

Harris noted that she and Biden took the issue 'very seriously' and that it was a 'priority' for the administration.

In February 2023, Harris delivered a speech at a Congressional Space Medal of Honor ceremony, explaining to NASA astronauts about what it was like to blast off into space on a rocket.

'Bob and Doug returned to the Kennedy Space Center. They suited up. They waved to their families, and they rode an elevator up nearly 20 stories,' she began. 'They strapped in to their seats and waited as the tanks beneath filled with tens of thousands of gallons of fuel. And then they launched.'

'Yeah, they did,' Harris continued laughing awkwardly as the audience did not react.

As a politician from California, Harris takes pride about being on the cusp of public policy and technology, but tended to get tangled up when talking about the issues by trying to explain how they worked.

In February 2022, Harris felt it necessary to spend time reminding her audience what people us the internet for, including work, school, and entertainment.

In September 2010, then-district attorney of San Francisco Harris tired to explain what cloud computing was.

'It's on your laptop, and it's then therefore up here in this cloud, that exists above us, right? It's no longer in a physical place,' she said.

Harris also spoke about technology when she seized the mantle of 'Artificial Intelligence Czar' and hosted an event at the Executive Office Building about it.

'I think the first part of this issue that should be articulated is AI is kind of a fancy thing,' Harris said. 'First of all, it's two letters. It means artificial intelligence, but ultimately what it is, is it's about machine learning.'

During a discussion on infrastructure, Harris tried to further simplify the term, telling her audience that it was about transportation and getting places.

'You need to get to go and need to be able to get where you need to go to do the work and get home,' she explained.

As she grew closer to Biden's reelection campaign, Harris honed in on a message about the importance of Democracy, but first she spent time explaining what it meant.

'On the one hand it's incredible strength,' she began in a podcast interview, spending a great deal of time talking about how it was also 'fragile.'

But Kamala Harris is not opposed to talking only about the seriousness of democracy, she also revealed the best way to cook a Thanksgiving turkey prior to an interview with MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart in November 2019.

At the 2023 Essence Festival of Culture in July, Harris was asked what culture meant to her, which prompted a lengthy explanation about the meaning of culture.

'Culture is — it is a reflection of our moment and our time. Right? And present culture is the way we express how we're feeling about the moment and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment. That is a reflection of joy. Because, you know…it comes in the morning,' Harris said before laughing off the awkwardness.

Harris also spoke about what the word innovation meant to her during a March 2023 speech during a trip to Ghana.

Speaking to young people, she explained that innovation was 'one's ability not only to see, but to do things differently' and 'challenging the premise, questioning the status quo, and bold thinking,' but also her personal catchphrase, 'the pursuit of what can be unburdened by what has been.'

Harris also explained how electricity works during an event in California.

'Think about it. Every time you turn on a light, or charge a laptop, or plug in your air conditioner, or put leftovers on the fridge, you rely on the power delivered by our nation's network of transmission lines,' she said.

After The Biden administration shot down a Chinese spy balloon that was traveling over the United States, Harris was asked in February 2023 to explain why they decided to take action.

'As it relates to the Chinese balloon, we shot it down because it needed to be shot down,' she began shortly.

Harris is married to her husband Doug Emhoff, who is Jewish, and as part of the 2020 celebration of Hanukkah, the newly elected vice president spoke about the holiday and why it was important to her.

'I love Hannukah because it really is about the light and bringing light where there is darkness, and there is so much work to be done in the world to bring light...' she began.

Her comment angered Orthodox Jews who felt she was trivializing the importance the holiday.

Harris tried to simplify Russia's war in Ukraine during an interview, where she was asked to explain why it was happening in 'laymen's terms.'

Harris replied, 'So, Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that's wrong.'
