The identity of the British climber who scaled the Eiffel Tower with no rope just hours before the Paris Olympics closing ceremony yesterday has been revealed.
Louis Davis, a professional climber and stunt coordinator, was arrested on the second floor of Paris' most famous landmark on Sunday afternoon after clambering up the structure in 32 degrees C heat.
Heart-pumping footage captured the moment Davis hauled his way up the iron girders, passing the Olympic rings emblazoned on the side of the tower as shocked officials ushered tourists away from the monument.
A separate clip later showed a shirtless, smiling Davis being led away by cops as he quipped: 'Bloody warm, isn't it!' having been arrested upon reaching the second observation deck.
It is just the latest arrest following an incredible feat of skill and strength for Davis, who has previously scaled London's famous 'Cheesegrater' building - and has also worked with a host of Hollywood's finest including the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Cruise.
But French authorities confirmed he is now facing a charge of 'endangering the lives of others' - an offence that comes with a one-year prison sentence, and a fine equivalent to £12,800.
Now there are fears Paris prosecutors could push for a harsh sentence after police were forced to divert vital resources to his arrest and Eiffel Tower evacuations on the day of the Olympics closing ceremony.

Davis' feat impressed tourists who could be heard gasping at the sight of his climb, which took place just above the Olympic beach volleyball court.
But he never stood a chance of completing his ascent, such was the level of security surrounding the monument hours ahead of the Olympics closing ceremony.
More than 30,000 police officers were deployed around Paris and beyond on Sunday to ensure the closing ceremony would proceed without a hitch.
France's interior minister, Gerald Darmanin, confirmed that the Stade de France alone was being patrolled by 3,000 police officers, with thousands more encircling the Eiffel Tower and the city centre.
Davis was promptly spotted just minutes into his climb and later arrested by a specialist police unit deployed to the Tower as he reached the second observation deck.
The monument was evacuated as a precaution while police carried out the arrest.
'He was arrested at 2.45pm and handcuffed by police,' an investigating source told MailOnline.
'He was heading towards the second floor when he was stopped by specialist climbing police.'
Davis, who describes himself as a 'fear and resilience obsessive', boasts an impressive career as a stunt rigger, having been involved in a host of high-profile projects and successful films.
Some of his highlights include work with actors Christian Bale and Heath Ledger on Christopher Nolan's acclaimed Batman film 'Dark Knight', Vin Diesel of the Fast and Furious franchise, and fellow stunt enthusiast Tom Cruise for box office hit Mission Impossible: Fallout.
Cruise himself demonstrated his lust for adrenaline-fuelled feats just hours after Davis' attempted climb of the Eiffel Tower when he performed a rope dive into the Stade De France in a Mission Impossible-style finale to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games last night.
Donning a leather jacket and harness, the 62-year-old Hollywood star dove from the roof of the stadium, soared down to the stage below and collected the Olympic flame before roaring off on a motorbike.
The elaborate stunt, witnessed live by some 70,000 spectators, was part of the handover of the Olympic flame from Paris to Los Angeles, which will host the games in 2028.

Davis has also documented his various mental health struggles, and claims these are what led him to develop a career in climbing and stunt work where the physical challenge also became a vehicle for mental development.
'My journey hasn't been without its challenges.
'Diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, and Borderline Personality Disorder, I faced battles with bulimia, substance abuse self harm and suicide attempts,' he wrote on his personal website.
'Through these struggles, I discovered that confronting fear as a friend and embracing resilience could transform my life.
'This breakthrough led me to pursue my climbing professionally,' he concludes, adding that overcoming fears in the sport helped him to 'unlock his true potential' and combat his mental health problems.
Davis previously made headlines in September 2023 for his ascent of London's Leadenhall building - affectionately nicknamed the 'Cheesegrater' - which measures a whopping 224 metres, or 734ft, in height.
The climber made his ascent with nothing but shoes, shorts and a bag of chalk, with no safety equipment, harnesses or ropes in sight.
Surreal footage snapped by shocked office workers circulated on social media showed how Davis inched his way up the metal latticework wedged between the Cheesegrater's glass facade.
MailOnline has reached out to Davis for comment.
