Disney World in Orlando is expanding its Magic Kingdom with the addition of a new park section dedicated to villains.
Known as Villains Land, construction of the new area will begin next year.
Chairperson of Disney Experiences Josh D'Amaro announced the park's upcoming expansion at the D23 Expo.
'This land will be home to the villains that you know and those that you loathe, which means happily ever after... It may feel like just a distant dream,' D’Amaro said.
He added that Villains Land will be a 'fearless new vision for what a Disney experience can be.'
Construction is set to begin in 2025, but D’Amaro did not reveal the opening date of what is considered Disney World's largest change in 53 years.
Chairperson of Disney Experiences Josh D'Amaro announced the park's upcoming expansion called Villain's Land at the D23 Expo on August 10.
Disney hinted the Villains Land attraction at the 2022 D3 Expo through concept art and multiple interviews over the past few years.
'Since the beginning, our Disney villains have given us endless possibilities to tell new stories,' D'Amaro said.
Villains Land will not only come with two major attractions, but it will also include additional shopping and dining options.
He kept quiet on the antagonists Villain's Land will center around, but its concept art featured a roller coaster track and a fire-breathing Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.
'This is storytelling on a grand scale that only Disney can deliver,' D'Amato said during the announcement.
'So be prepared, you poor, unfortunate souls.'

D'Amaro described two other new attractions coming to Magic Kingdom that are dedicated to Cars - a 2006 Pixar movie set in a world of vehicles.
Both will be located in Magic Kingdom's Frontierland. One will take visitors off the road, while the other will be centered around families with young children.
'We're leaving Radiator Springs behind, and we're heading off to the wilderness,' D'Amaro said.
'The American West has always been about keeping your eyes on the horizon... believing in yourself, carving your own path, and striving toward success.'
D'Amaro added that construction for these Cars-themed attractions will begin in 2025.
Another new Magic Kingdom feature is a parade led by the Blue Fairy, featuring characters from Encanto, Frozen, and Peter Pan.
It's set to debut at the park next summer.
Other attractions that will be added to theme parks within the Orlando tourist attraction are Monsters Inc Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Encanto and Indiana Jones-themed rides in Animal Kingdom, and a Spaceship Earth Lounge in Epcot.
