10 months since Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel, the parents of the soldiers from the 77th Battalion have decided to release the full footage on the Israeli news channel.

The father of Oz, Amir Daniel, said he recognised his son in the video, despite the hazy clips.

'You can't mistake your own child'.

The families of the soldiers chose to share the footage to raise awareness for the hostages.

The soldiers had been stationed at the Gaza border at an outpost between Kibbutz Nir Oz and Kibbutz Nirim, two Israeli communities which were attacked on October 7.

The soldiers had already received alerts about Hamas' invasion and were ready to operate. The tank manned by Nimrod, Omer, Daniel and Dahan was reportedly hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, which resulted in the four men having to exit the tanks to avoid suffocation.

Nimrod's father, Yehuda Cohen revealed to N12 that 'the crew couldn't operate effectively during the attack because the equipment provided by the army wasn't functioning properly'.

He also urged the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire deal.

This comes ten months into a war sparked by Hamas's October attack on southern Israel, which resulted in the deaths of 1,197 people, mostly civilians, according to Israeli figures.

The militants also seized 251 hostages, 116 of whom are still in Gaza, including 44 the Israeli military says are dead.

Israel's retaliatory military campaign in Gaza has killed more than 39,000 people, also mostly civilians, according to data from the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza.
