Florida police rescued a missing elderly woman who wandered off into gator-infested swamp.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies responded to calls for help finding the woman with Alzheimer's around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

They used infrared cameras and aviation to pinpoint her location in a wooded area east of her home on the 3400 block of Reynoldswood Drive.

Body camera footage shared by the department shows deputies approached the woman in the swamp, but she appeared confused and brushed them off.

'Ma'am come on, let's go. We've got to get you out of here. We're going to get you home ma'am,' an officer said.

Deputies then approach her in the water with flashlights, taking ahold of her hand and start to speak to her in Spanish.

They start saying 'ven' and 'vamos' - the Spanish words for 'come' and 'let's go.'

Once the woman gets closer to the officers, one offers to pick her up and carry her out of the water.

The woman gasps then an officer lifts her up and cradles her as they walk out of the gator-infested swamp.

'Watch your step Troy,' another officer said as she was carried out.

After sloshing through the swamp, the officer safely drops the woman on the ground.

'I am beyond thankful and relieved we were able to locate and rescue this missing woman quickly,' said Sheriff Chad Chronister.

'This incident highlights our specialized units and technology's critical role in ensuring the safety of our community. Our team's dedication to service and swift response made all the difference in bringing her home safely.'
