A pampered traveler is roasted after calling Delta's first-class wine service a 'nightmare' in part because the flight attendants didn't know the different wines available.
A woman, who goes by @topknotsandlayovers on TikTok, had a lot to whine about after a bad experience while flying in a Delta One seat from Paris to Atlanta.
'The whole thing was a nightmare,' she raged after getting off the flight in a TikTok. 'The food was not good, the service was not good. The elevated wine experiences that they made these huge PR releases about they're really not that good.'
But it was more than just poor wine that angered her, it was the flight attendants' lack of knowledge and alleged 'passive-aggressive' behavior that really set the flyer off.
'[The flight attendants] had no notes, they couldn't even identify the bottle,' she said. 'I was like how is this an elevated experience?'
She said foreign long-haul international carriers would never do that to customers, but Delta's service cannot be 'more basic,' especially when she claimed her flight was retailing for more than $7,000.
Current Delta One prices for the route from Atlanta to Paris are retailing for anywhere between $11,000 and $15,000 on its website.

Her biggest beef with the airline was the 'passive-aggressive' behavior from the flight attendant who was not knowledgeable about the wine list. 'The food was not good, the service was not good. The elevated wine experiences that they made these huge PR releases about they're really not that good,' she said
'I was really hoping, since they said they were going to enhance their experience and make their premium product more premium, that I might have a different experience here in 2024. I did not,' she said in the August 1 TikTok video.
Many commenters were quick to blast the MIT student's critique of the flight, with one user writing: 'We have different versions of disaster.'
'A flying NIGHTMARE? Because the FA didn’t know about wines? GTFO,' one user wrote.
Another brought up the fact that in a full review of the flight, the flyer had shown that she'd seen a list of wines.
'But you have a menu that literally has a page listing all the wines in full detail like bffr,' the user said.
Another wrote: 'Who cares if the FA [flight attendant] didn’t know what the wines are? The wine listings and description is on the menu…just READ it lol.'
'Maybe because the flight attendants aren't there to know what f*cking wine you're having,' one wrote in a scathing comment. 'Wait until there is a medical or an aircraft emergency, then you'll see what they're there for. Omg the privilege.'
'But you have a menu that literally has a page listing all the wines in full detail like bffr,' one TikTok user criticized under her video (pictured: the wine list on her flight)
In a follow-up video with her full review of Delta One, she wasn't much kinder, complaining about the food that 'was nothing to write home about,' and she didn't like the complimentary Missoni amenity kit provided to her
'Getting this wound up about flight attendants not being sommeliers at the same time is wild,' another wrote.
Another simply wrote: 'World's smallest violin.'
However, not everyone disagreed with her criticisms, saying Delta One is 'not worth it' and they were 'not impressed' with the experience.
In a follow-up video with her full review of Delta One, she wasn't much kinder, complaining about the food that 'was nothing to write home about,' despite the variety of options. The frequent flyer was served cod smothered in a sauce, with polenta, asparagus, a croissant, jam, and more; while her husband enjoyed blueberry crepes.
She does, however, admit the 'dessert cart was one of the highlights of the night for me.'
The car appeared to have an array of desserts and she got what appeared to be a donut. She also received some late-night snacks, including a dark chocolate bar, shortbread fingers, and baked cheese crackers that she said 'paired very nicely with some wine.'

She also received a charcuterie board as her snack before landing, but she complained it was a 'very small portion size.' The other option was a mini pizza.
The flyer also complained about the Missoni amenity kit that came with her ticket because the lip balm and hand cream from the Grown Alchemist, as well as earplugs, a toothbrush, a pen, and some compression socks.
Despite not enjoying the wine experience for the complimentary Missoni amenity kit, she was kinder toward the amount of space the first-class tickets offered 'ample leg space' that would be 'pretty comfortable' for even taller passengers.
She also liked the Air France lounge she got to enjoy prior to boarding the flight, especially the air conditioning.
