Matsuyama is the biggest Japanese star in golf and won his only major at the 2021 Masters.
Team USA's Scottie Scheffler and Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood won the gold and silver medals respectively at the Olympics.
Matsuyama winning a bronze medal comes after losing a 7-hole playoff for the third-place award three years ago in Tokyo.
One week later, he was in a playoff at the St. Jude Championship again, losing to Abraham Ancer.
It is unclear when Kuromiya and Hayato will re-join Matsuyama on the PGA Tour, with a substitute caddie being assigned to Matsuyama for the Memphis tournament.
Matsuyama last won a PGA Tour event in February at the Genesis Invitational.
