A 22-year-old woman was taken off life support by her family after she suffered major injuries when she was hurled from her boyfriend's car.

Zahriya Moreno and her boyfriend, 25-year-old Angelito Adrian Olivas, had gotten into an argument early Monday morning, and at some point, Moreno jumped on the trunk of his vehicle as he tried to leave the area, according to a criminal complaint obtained by KOLD.

Olivas, who had been dating Moreno for one and a half years, allegedly knew Moreno was on the trunk and kept driving anyway.

At some point, she fell off and Olivas found her unresponsive.

He then drove her to the Drexel Heights Fire Department in Tucson, Arizona and was brought to a local hospital.

Her father, Robert, said he woke up on Wednesday knowing Zahriya was going to be taken off life support.

But he wasn't expecting more than 100 people to show up at Banner-University Medical Center for her Honor Walk, as she had her organs donated.

'The outpouring of support is something I wouldn't have fathomed in a million years,' he said.

'I thought it was just going to be family and friends.'

He added that it is 'wonderful to know that parts of my baby will live on, but there's no words, no anything that will ever be able to make this better.'

He noted that they had previously lost Zahriya's twin brother, Izac, who died in a motorcycle crash in 2021 - which Robert said took a toll on her.

'Mom would hear her crying in her room by herself a lot because she didn't want everyone else to see her being weak, and we relied on her strength, and I hope that we can fill it somehow now,' he said.

'Because as we lost our twins, it's going to be a lot of darkness in the future and we're going to push through that as difficult as it is, because that's what our daughter would have wanted for us.'

Zahriya's grandparents also said they are now finding solace knowing that she is reunited with her twin brother.

They described Zahriya as a 'very strong girl' who 'just graduated recently from esthetician school' to KVOA.

She was active in JROTC and wanted to do that full time.

Meanwhile, Olivas has been arrested on charges of felony domestic violence, aggravated assault and felony endangerment.

He was released later in the day after posting a $2,500 bond - infuriating Robert.

'It almost seemed like a joke,' he said.

'I'm disappointed in the judge, the legal system.'
