'So the @Mets decided to get the Hawk Tuah Girl to throw out the 1st pitch for a summer 'camp day' day game where the vast majority of fans are 11 year old kids at the ballpark on camp trips. Seriously what were they thinking? Be better than this,' one wrote on social media.
'We have 120 Olympic medalists and you chose her? Seriously?' another added. 'Civilization has hit a new low,' wrote a third.
Welch has shot to internet fame over recent months, amassing 2million followers on Instagram.
The Tennessee native has cashed in, too, releasing merchandise of the now-iconic catchphrase and hanging out with the likes of Shaquille O'Neal.
She even jumped on stage with country music star Zach Bryan and has called out popstar JoJo Siwa for a potential fight.
Michelle Waterson, the former No. 1 women's atomweight fighter in the world and an ex-Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, offered to train Welch.
But tennis star Nick Kyrgios took a dig at Welch after she made an appearance at Jake Paul's boxing win over Mike Perry.
Taking to X - formerly known as Twitter - Kyrgios tweeted: 'No correlation between fame and actually being decent at something anymore,' along with a laughing emoji.
