'Monster-in-law' ruins son's gender reveal party
An over-excited mother-in-law ruined her son's gender reveal, leaving an expectant mom in shock.
David Wilson and his wife Shannon held a gender reveal party this summer to celebrate the upcoming birth of their second child.
The two of them decided to reveal the baby's gender by using confetti poppers and provided one for all their party attendees, including David's eager mother.
Unfortunately, the grandmother couldn't wait to find out the gender and used her confetti popper before the couple got the chance to do it themselves, as seen in a TikTok video Shannon posted.
'First rule of gender reveals: Never give a canon to your mother-in-law,' Shannon wrote in her video description.

The Wilsons were excited to hold the party ever since they became pregnant.
'The first gender reveal just myself and my husband did the reveal,' Shannon told Newsweek.
'This time, I wanted the people we love to partake as well. Also, it would've been really great for pictures.'
They were optimistic the gender reveal would go smoothly before Daniel's mom used her confetti popper early.
'We were giving out instructions, and I specifically told them we were doing it all together,' Shannon said.
'I even told them that if anyone popped it early, I would kill them. So the fact that it actually happened was more shock and disappointment than upset.'
David's mother did not explain why she popped it early, but Shannon believed it was because her monster-in-law was 'not listening.'

Although Shannon was disappointed in the June 30 video, she and David stuck to the original reveal plan during a July 1 TikTok.
'We popped them anyways. There was no cussing, no one was upset… I was alright guys,' Shannon wrote.
Daniel also forgave his mother for the mistake, and he immediately began smiling and dancing after he used his confetti popper.
The two of them are now awaiting the arrival of their second child, which will be a boy.

Over 3,300 TikTok users commented on the video, and several blamed Daniel's mother-in-law for the gender-reveal failure.
'It's the fact that it's not easy to pop, so it was 100 percent intentional,' a TikToker wrote.
Another commenter wrote: How does one accidentally twist it all the way to the popping point? There's zero chance this wasn't purposeful.'
Others blamed Daniel and Shannon for the stunning turn of events, and one person believed that it was an example of why the unborn baby's mom and dad should be the only ones doing a gender reveal.
'Why would y'all give everybody one? That's kind of on you,' wrote a commenter.
'This is why we just opened up the envelope at home. People don't want to see you happy,' a person wrote.'
