The job application for the Harris campaign includes nine different options for pronouns, including 'xe/xem,' 'ze/hir,' 'ey/em,' 'fae/faer' and 'hu/hu.'
'Fae/faer,' indicates a gender-fluid person but non-masculine, sometimes of Celtic origin. 'Hu/hu,' pronouns are third person gender-neutral pronouns referring to both a man and a woman.
The other pronouns are considered gender neutral.

Harris has long considered herself as a leader on the issue of pronouns, beginning during her failed 2020 presidential campaign.
During a CNN presidential forum on LGTBQ issues, Harris proclaimed at the beginning of her time that 'my pronouns are she, her, and hers.'
The vice president also identified her pronouns after she took office.
At a teleconference with gay activists in June 2021, Harris again identified her pronouns as 'she and her,' repeating it during a disability event in 2022 and adding for the visually impaired that she was the 'woman in the blue suit.'

Harris has made a pointed effort with LGBT outreach during the 2024 campaign, appearing on the show RuPaul's Drag Race in July to encourage the audience to vote.
'We're all in this together, and your vote is your power,' she said.
She also invited cast and crew from the TV show Queer Eye in June to visit the White House and film a video promotion for the administration.
