A flight attendant has revealed the astronomical fines they can land, if they fail to encourage passengers to follow a set of simple rules.
In a TikTok, Keana, 31, from Georgia, encourages viewers to 'just listen' if they take a flight and a member of staff asks them to do certain things.
Some of their requests might include fastening seatbelts, putting bags underneath seats, placing seats in the upright position or securing trays.
Other things that will get called out are children over the age of two sitting on parents' lap and animals blocking the aisles.
While some passengers might consider the asks to be annoying, Keana outlines that the rules are merely there for safety reasons and enforced by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The American Airlines employee writes in the video caption: 'We are here for your safety, so those slight inconveniences for you are a part of our jobs.'
In a bid to encourage responsive behavior from passengers, Keana adds: 'It's free to be nice.
'It costs a lot to get off of the no fly list babe. Choose wisely.'
If Keana does not issue instructions and passengers fail to comply, she says she can get fined $10,000.
Reiterating her point, the globetrotter tells viewers: 'Just listen, just listen, please just listen.
'We ask you to do these things for a reason.'
Keana notes that the $10,000 fine is 'per infraction.'
So, 'each time I don't ask you to put your seat belt on, I don't ask you to put your bag underneath [your seat], or I don't ask you to lift that little tray or put your seat up... That's $10,000… and the FAA can do that if they're on board.'

To discourage any sassiness from passengers, Keana concludes: 'I don't care that the last flight attendant didn't ask you [to follow the rules].
'They didn't care about that fine. I care about that fine. So either CashApp me or comply.'
To date, Keana's video has been watched more than 70,000 times, with many viewers voicing their disbelief at the sizeable fine.
One commenter wrote: 'Eeeek! Per infraction… can you imagine all those potential fines on one single flight… Geeez, that can add up real fast.'
Another viewer wrote: 'I will never ever complain/grumble ever again. Ain't no fines on my watch!!'
Keana noted in the comments section that she knows of flight attendants who have 'been personally fined for these reasons.'
She also reveals that FAA agents do not have to announce themselves if they are onboard a flight, so they can catch crew out by surprise.
