Donald Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski took to the airwaves Friday to reveal what is and is not changing now that he is being brought on board the campaign.

Lewandowski, who helmed Trump's 2016 campaign and got fired weeks before the Republican convention, praised Trump's current leadership team and said he had no plans to look at the books of the operation.

'We are 80 days from this election and really the truth is people start voting much earlier than that,' Lewandowski told Martha McCallum on Fox News

'We are really only 45 days before the ballots start going out, and so it's all hands on deck,' he said, referencing the mail-in ballots that Trump has often criticized in favor of in-person voting. Everybody who wants to be part of the team, there is a spot for,' he said.

McCallum introduced him as 'senior advisor,' then asked for clarification. 'Something like that I guess. I don't know if titles matter - the only title that matters is the president,' he responded. (Trump on Thursday said he would be a 'personal envoy.')

'The president has made the decision to continue to bring members into his team that want to make sure he's going to be successful,' he said.

'It is an addition campaign, not a subtraction campaign,' he said.

He praised campaign heads Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, as well as Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio.

'I'm honoured and humbled the president asked me to come back to bring this campaign to a winning successful election day in early November,' he said.

McCallum brought up the dramatic musical chairs from 2016, when Paul Manafort was brought in as a top strategist and Kellyanne Conway ended up managing the came that got Trump across the finish line. She wanted to know if there would be a similar change at the top.

'I believe that to be true, Martha. I absolutely do,' he responded, calling Wiles and LaCivita, who steered Trump through a gauntlet of primary wins 'consummate professionals' who have 'steered a very impressive ship.'

'The Democrats are so concerned about Donald Trump that they had to switch out there candidate at this late stage right before the convention,' he said.

McCallum also asked him about the claim that Trump is angry, and said he was 'a little off his game,' adding that 'people have said he's been rambling in some of his recent speeches.

'He's not off his game,' Lewandowski said, pointing to his lengthy press conference Thursday and Harris's lack of a sit-down.

'She's been a chameleon. She continues to employ this tactic of hiding in the basement and not answering media questions,' he said.

Trump confirmed the hires Thursday, as polls have shown Vice President Kamala Harris gaining leads or ties in battleground polls.

Also coming on board are Taylor Budowich, who ran the super PAC MAGA, Inc., plus Alex Pfeiffer and Alex Bruesewitz from the PAC. Tim Murtaugh, who served as Trump's communications chief in 2020, is also coming on board.

McCallum brought up polling showing Trump running a deficit among women in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

Lewandowski dismissed the concerns and pointed to female campaign surrogates. 'We saw this in 2016 when women were supposed to be supporting Hillary Clinton. She actually lost the women vote in 2016 and Kamala Harris is going to repeat that in 2024,' he said.

He also got asked if he was tasked with looking at the finances of Trump's operation. 'The president has not asked me to do that,' he said, calling the campaign a 'lean operation.'
