This is the shocking moment an 86-year-old Israeli hostage was seemingly abducted by Hamas on the back of a motorbike before his death weeks later.

Aryeh Zalmanovich, of Kibbutz Nir Oz, was taken hostage on October 7, when Hamas invaded Israel and caused the death of more than 1,000 civilians.

He is then said to have died while in captivity in November, with claims he was executed after his health massively deteriorated due to a lack of medication.

Shocking footage shows the grandfather-of-five being abducted on the back of a motorbike, flanked by his captors who are seated behind and in front of him.

During the video, the group moves through the streets while Mr Zalmanovich is visibly wounded with bloodstains on his clothing and a large head wound.

A tractor with an Israeli license plate leads the crowd, with people standing and waving on top of the large vehicle.

The video was first shown during the Weekend News Edition on N12, which shed light on the old man's abduction.

The father-of-two is said to have been hiding in a secure room in his Kibbutz when he was discovered by his attackers, before being taken without his glasses or hearing aid.

Hamas reportedly already published a video in mid-November showing Mr Zalmanovich in critical condition.

The footage is said to have shown the grandfather lying on a bed attached to a monitor, when he said he was not feeling well.

In footage taken later, he was said to be seen motionless and wrapped up in a white sheet.

Kibbutz Nir Oz later announced Mr Zalmanovich's death in captivity in December.

It comes after Palestinian health authorities said earlier this month that an Israeli airstrike hit a school-turned-shelter in Gaza City, killing more than 100 people.

The Health Ministry's Ambulance and Emergency service said the strike on the Tabeen school in central Gaza City also wounded 47 people.

The Israeli military acknowledged the strike, claiming it hit a Hamas command centre within the school. It did not provide evidence.
